ESC came today and "repaired" the chiller. There was something wrong with the VFD controller. The were able to get it to start and run
correctly again but were not able to recreate the problem. At this point it appears that it has magically disappeared. |

The turbo pumps have been turned on and are running |
Thursday, May 23, 2013, 14:12, Bevan Moss, Conditioning Station, Maintenance, , , Primary Circuit Drained and Flushed
|
Rob Walker has drained the primary side of the conditioning station. It will be flushed, filled and chemically treated. It was desired to
chemically treat the primary side before before but it took so long that sediment was found (things started to grow). |
Monday, May 27, 2013, 10:35, Bevan Moss, Conditioning Station, Standard Operation, TM4, Ta #40, Pumps Started HV testing to follow
|
The pumps have been turned on at ~9:30 this morning. Current values are 6.61 Mohm TCS:DIC1 @19.4 C. HV testing will start momentarily. |
Monday, May 27, 2013, 10:37, Bevan Moss, Conditioning Station, Maintenance, TM4, , Cooling Systems topped off
|
Rob walker has flushed and refilled the primary side of the system (note the water still looks nasty). This morning the primary side of system needed
to be bled as there were air pockets. Also TK2 had reached its low point and needed to be topped up. |
Monday, May 27, 2013, 15:59, Bevan Moss, Conditioning Station, Repair, , , Compressor fault
|
Once again the 7.5 compressors are tripping due to faults. I believe it is due to over pressure as a result of the chiller fans not coming on.
I have contacted ESC. |
Monday, May 27, 2013, 16:01, Bevan Moss, Conditioning Station, Repair, , , CanBUS card
|
During HV conditioning of TM4 with Ta#40 there was a spark at ~43 kV that caused the Bias card to "fry". Dave Morris has been contacted
and has said he will replace it tomorrow. |
Monday, May 27, 2013, 16:07, Bevan Moss, Conditioning Station, Standard Operation, TM4, Ta #40, HV conditioning
|
The HV conditioning reached a maximum of 44kV today before a spark took out the canbus card. I will attach the data once I have had a chance to
format it. |
Monday, May 27, 2013, 16:36, Bevan Moss, Conditioning Station, Standard Operation, TM4, Ta#40, Argon Venting Started
|
Argon venting has started. It will be left to vent over night. |
Tuesday, June 04, 2013, 15:34, Bevan Moss, Conditioning Station, Repair, , , Relay replaced
|
ESC was called out again to inspect the chiller as it was showing the same problem as before. This time when started one fan came on (this is not what
happened last time) but the fan controlled by the VFD did not. It was eventually traced to a relay that has been replaced. The system was tested as best
it could without a load and appears to be working. It will be difficult to tell until a heat load is in place if the fix has solved everything. |
Tuesday, June 25, 2013, 14:24, Travis Cave, Conditioning Station, Standard Operation, TM1, UC#6, module move
|
Module moves of TM#1 with Ta#39 from ITW to SHC then TM#1 with UCx#6 from SHC to the conditioning station moves went well. |
Tuesday, June 25, 2013, 14:56, Bevan Moss, Conditioning Station, Standard Operation, TM1, UCx#6, Roughing Pumps Started
|
The roughing pumps have been started on the conditioning station. As it is late in the day for David he will make the turbo pump connections tomorrow. |
Tuesday, July 02, 2013, 10:58, Travis Cave, Conditioning Station, Standard Operation, TM1, UC#6, module move
|
TM#1 with UC#6 has been moved from the conditioning station to the west target station, move went well. |
Friday, July 05, 2013, 10:02, Bevan Moss, Conditioning Station, Standard Operation, TM3, No source tray, TM3 module move to TCS
|
TM3 has been moved from the south hot cell to the conditioning station. David and I completed the move. All went well. |
Wednesday, July 17, 2013, 08:29, David Wang, Conditioning Station, Development, TM3, , TM3 leak check in CS without source tray.
|
Leak checked TM3 without source tray in CS this morning. The CS and TM3 vacuum: IG1(top of the TM3 service cap)4.9x E-7Torr, IG2(diagnostic box
primary)1.9XE-6 Torr. IG1S (secondary vessel)7.9X E-7Torr. The leak detector was at 0.0XE-4 torr and 0.0XE-9 atm.cc/sec level during the leak checked.

Wednesday, July 17, 2013, 10:10, David Wang, Conditioning Station, Development, TM3, , CS cooling and vacuum system have been turned off
|
CS water cooling and vacuum system have been turned off at 10:00 AM this morning. The TM3 will be disconnected and moved to silo tomorrow morning. |
Thursday, July 18, 2013, 10:08, Travis Cave, Conditioning Station, Standard Operation, TM3, no target, module move
|
TM#3 with no target and no source tray has been moved from the conditioning station to the north east silo, move went well. |
Monday, July 22, 2013, 15:52, Bevan Moss, Conditioning Station, Standard Operation, TM3, No Source Tray, HV testing update
|
I have fallen behind on the HV testing that has been completed on TM3. Data can be found on docushare in the TM3 Rev 3 folder files are
too large to attach. From the last elog entry the following tests have been completed
July 8 2013 - Long HV conditioning 50kV achieved before sparking caused PS to trip. Was unable to recover to the same voltage |
Wednesday, July 24, 2013, 14:40, Travis Cave, Conditioning Station, Standard Operation, TM4, SiC#29, module move
|
TM#4 with SiC#29 has been moved from the south hot cell to the conditioning station move went well. |
Wednesday, July 24, 2013, 17:46, David Wang, Conditioning Station, Standard Operation, TM4, Sic 29#, Started 3 turbo pumps on CS for TM4
|
3 turbo pumps on TM4 and CS have been started. The pumping down is good so far, The TM4 PNG1 reading is more than 10 times higher than IG1 which is at
the same chamber. It could be a controller problem. Other 3 high vacuum gauges behavior normal. The TM4 IG1 is replaced today and it works
fine now. |
