Carla Babcock | | | | | | | | Cleaned HV cage - trying bias again | I vacuumed inside the HV cage, though it has many small areas that are difficult to access so I am not sure how great a job I did.
Turned the bias up and again at 55kV I hear small sparks near the end of the HV duct that brings the cables from the rack. Cannot see anything. If it is really sparking where it sounds like sparking, it must be from the edge of the duct to the faraday cage.
Changing the EZL voltage and the EE voltage has no effect on where it starts sparking. |

Carla Babcock | | | | | | | | Change from 9-pin connectors to 5-pin connectors | Swapped the old 9pin connectors out and replaced with 2 5-pin connectors, same as on the modules.
See attached for current pin out diagram. Many of the wires are too short to reach the bottom sockets, so wires 2, 8, 9 are not connected in the connector. 4 spots are empty on connector 2 (right). (6, 7) and (4, 5) are twisted pairs. Unused wires are tapped up out of the way, but we should improve this, the tape may come loose due to heat and then the wires could present an HV risk. (Update: added some wire to hold them in place. Slightly better...)
Need to either extend the wires, or put in new ones. All wires are grounded on the rack.
In addition, there are two screws in each connector which are floating right now. Need to make a connection for them but should be ok if we dont go to really high voltages. |

Just as side note, I think the PS was in negative mode since the quoted entry from October 30 2019. Given that the SiC/FEBIAD was supposed to run in cathode mode, the test stand was rewired to this. The only rewiring after this was for the P2N. |
