TM4 has been connected at TCS. The water system is started. The TCS HV cover for TM4 is installed also. Basically, The TM4 is ready for conditioning. |
Thursday, November 26, 2015, 07:34, David Wang, Conditioning Station, Standard Operation, TM4, UC#14, Helium pressure test on TM4 HS line at CS
|
I did helium pressure test on TM4 HS line at TCS this morning. 70psi helium 3 minutes, 0.0xE-9 atm.cc/sec base leak rate. No response. No leak. |
Thursday, November 26, 2015, 06:25, David Wang, Conditioning Station, Standard Operation, TM4, UC#14, TM4 vacuum has been connected in TCS.
|
TM4 vacuum has been connected in TCS. All vacuum pumps were started yesterday. The pumping down of TM4 and TCS are good so far. |

Wednesday, November 25, 2015, 15:36: RGA on
Thursday, November 26, 2015, 09:55: PS energized. EE connected to power supply.
Thursday, November 26, 2015, 11:41: Applied some current and voltage to all power supplies. All looks good.
Some sparking around 5 kV. Turned out to be a bad cable connection. Fixed with David W.
Thursday, November 26, 2015, 15:04: BIAS/EL/EE 20 / 15 1.5 kV
Thursday, November 26, 2015, 15:43: Handed TCS over to ISAC operations
Target heated over the weekend. EE went into current limiting (down to ~100 V) a while after the target was at temperature.
Monday, November 30, 2015
Target conditioned by ISAC operators to 30 kV without any problems.
EE current limit increased to about 26 mA in an attempt to recover. Cooling down target to investigate. |

|
TM#4 with UC#14 was moved from the south hot cell to the conditioning station. Here are the results of the electrical check of the module with the UC#14 target while at the hot cell. |

Ta#46 has been removed from TM4. |
Tuesday, November 24, 2015, 14:02, chad fisher, South Hot-Cell, Repair, , , Left Manip repair
|
electronics package on left manip died completely yesterday (it has been going for a while).
Disconnected entire package and replaced with package from "spare" manipulator.
everything is back up and working. |
Tuesday, November 24, 2015, 14:00, chad fisher, South Hot-Cell, Repair, , , Compressible waste sorting.
|
Residual fields from the remaining compressible waste were still too high (as far as I'm concerned) so I have unpacked all compressible waste looking for a "hot" item that has snuck into these items.
I have a hand full of small bolts (possible target components), a hand full of target material/dust (including an entire target disc), and some cloths that had clearly been used to wipe the table (they are black with target dust).
These items will be disposed of with the next spent target. |
Tuesday, November 24, 2015, 13:54, chad fisher, South Hot-Cell, Repair, , , Cell Decon
|
Decon/removal of large solid waste was performed on Wednesday November 18th."Hot" activated items included containment box cover from TM2, Febiad coil line remnants from TM4 (the hottest ends were previously cut off and disposed of), some target conductor bolts, steerer plugs from TM2, target material remn.
Drum containing these solid items is 2.5mSv/hr at 1/2m.
Drum is stored in the north hot cell temp.
Compressible waste will require another drum.
Swipes were taken of the window... 170k counts per minute of cont. |

Monday, November 16, 2015, 10:37, David Wang, Conditioning Station, Repair, TM3, , TM3 has been disconnected at TCS.
|
I stopped the TM3 and TCS vacuum pumps and water system. The TM3 is disconnected and vented. It will be moved to silo this afternoon. |

Tuesday, November 10, 2015, 10:23, Anders Mjos, Conditioning Station, Maintenance, TM3, , Air to vacuum leak on service cap
|
Conducted a more thorough leak check this morning with Edi. He found a leak on the base of the blue F/T insulator for the multi-pin connector (see attachment). I discovered that all the bolts could rotate freely in the threads as they were too small. The bolts were replaced. The leak rate was reduced but still significant. The o-ring will likely need to be replaced.
Tuesday, November 10, 2015, 17:00: Could not find new o-ring. Cleaned groove and o-ring and applied o-ring grease. Re-attached F/T. |
