Wednesday, July 25, 2018, 13:21, Anders Mjos, ITW, Repair, TM2, Nb#8, Leak check of ITW
|
ITW Entrance Module was leak checked yesterday with the support of Vacuum Group (Dimo & Edi). The leak detector was connected to primary backing vacuum line. A leak response was found near the bellow for the beam profile monitor on top of the Entrance Module. It could be confirmed today by actuating the monitor, that the leak was indeed at that location. The plan is to move the TM and Entrance Module out for target exchange and repair, respectively. Drawings of the device available on ITA0200and ITA5128 |
Wednesday, August 01, 2018, 15:12, Anders Mjos, South Hot-Cell, Standard Operation, TM2, UC#23, Target mounted - water leak on HS line
|
The heat shield water lines were not purged ahead of target exchange in the hot cell. This resulted in water leaking onto the new target assembly (heat shield) when the cooling lines were opened at top and bottom (for connecting leak detector). Excess water was wiped up with paper towels. |
Monday, September 24, 2018, 10:21, Anders Mjos, South Hot-Cell, Standard Operation, TM2, UC#23, Post Irradiation Examination (PIE)
|
UC#23 experienced short between target and heat shield as it was heated during operation. The inspection of the target after irradiation revealed that the left target leg was close to the heat shield opening and likely the cause of the short. Marks could be seen on the leg indicating contact. See attached photo. More photos are available on DocuShare |

Frank and Anders disconnected the water and electrical connections this afternoon after the target was conditioned over the weekend. The heater ramping program ran with the wrong gauge selected, causing the vacuum to go higher than planned. The module will be moved to ITW tomorrow. |
Wednesday, November 07, 2018, 09:50, Anders Mjos, ITW, Standard Operation, TM2, UC#25, TM2 connected in ITW

Measured resistance on safety limit switches for FC5 on Exit Module 2. Determined that the in connected signal did not work (shows not connected irregardless of FC position). Confirmed proper operation of the OUT limit. See attachment for details. The Harp 5 x and y signal connectors were checked and reconnected. |

|
Blocks were moved from ITW to ITE by Frank and David. ITE water flow to dump was re-opened (ITW remains open). A dose badge was installed in the operation storage area. Dose rates were measured to ~10 mSv/h at 1pm. Beam went off approximately 8:30am (with a short period of 2uA ending at 11am). |

Yesterday a leak was discovered in the ISAC-I experimental hall. The leak appears to be at the connection between the evaporator and the return water line. 1 in of water was lost from TCS:TK1. The water is currently valved off to prevent further leakage.
A fault reportt has been submitted to mechanical services - awaiting response.
