Post irradiation inspection of C#4 which was running in TM4/ITE was conducted at the NHC on Nov. 22 2022.
The yields from this target had been dropping and its behaviour was erratic, with the voltages on the tube and target jumping all over the place
sometimes. The ion current on the FCs followed the voltages. We took this to mean the target container was breaking down.

The target was inspected by Chad and Anders. Photos are available on DocuShare.
It was noticed that the target tube heater terminals had lifted up from the insulator on the target assembly as seen in this Photo.
This has later been detemined to be from the assembly, where additional clearance was required and achieved by installing

UC#23 experienced short between target and heat shield as it was heated during operation. The inspection of the target after irradiation revealed that
the left target leg was close to the heat shield opening and likely the cause of the short. Marks could be seen on the leg indicating contact. See attached
photo. More photos are available on DocuShare

Plastic has been removed from the floor and any known active items in the hot cell moved to the south east corner in an attempt to shield the anteroom.
Fields at the aluminum panel were reduced from 66 uSv/h to 58.8uSv\h. No contamination found on walls, floor, tacky mats, or standard aluminum cover. The
aluminum cover with breathable air line hole did have 400 counts on 44-2, 1200 on ludlum.

The polishing/cleaning tool prototype is now finished and appers to work great.
Thanks to Dan and Maico for the great job making my design a reality.

Polishing of the water block sealing surfaces has commenced. First attempt was on block B with low nap brown polishing pad (the least aggressive pad
prepared) and isopropyl for 30 seconds. This cleaned a little but did not remove the "ring" which I believe is water scale. I will step up to
2000 grit wet sand paper and iso next.

Two pail transfers took place April 25th.
Ta#47 transfered from pail 137 to pail 201. existing plastic bag from 137 showed many areas of typical age/rad damage related failure.

Pail transfer was undertaken in the south hot cell. went very well except near the end the master tong cable of the right hand manipulator broke. Not
entirely a surprise due to the amount of use it has seen lately.

Pail 211 which contained Ta#58 spent target was repackaged into Pail 286 in the South Hot Cell.
The dose rate at approx. 1 m was 4.16 mSv/h.
Pail 286 was transferred to the mini-storage vault and placed in the outermost location. The mini-storage vault is full at this time, in preparation

slightly loose, but have been tightened.
