  1162   Friday, March 04, 2016, 12:34 David WangITEStandard OperationTM4 TM4 ITE annual leak check

Dan and I finished TM4 and ITE annual leak check on primary and secondary vacuum vessel. We found one leak on a KF25  blank off which is located on the top of the service cap. It is a low E-7 atm.cc/sec range leak. But, it is very close to turbo-pumps so ITE IG1 and other gauges are not affected by it very much. It is an easy fix. TheKF -25 center ring on the blank off  will be replaced  after vent . It be will leak checked again at CS after replacement.  That is only leak we found on TM4 and ITE primary and secondary vessel air to vaccum leak check.

Dan and I also finished the helium pressure test on all TM4 using water circuits. 70 psi helium. base LR 0.0xE-9 atm.cc/sec. All of them are leak free. No any response has been found on leak detector during test.

I brought up TCS bias to 57.5 KV on TM4 without source tray at TCS. It was kept at this level about 1.0 hours. Some intermediate sparks. No spark trip on devices. 57.5KV is very close to the HV up limit of this module.

1606   Tuesday, August 29, 2017, 08:59 David WangConditioning StationStandard OperationTM4 TM4 HS line leak checks

TM4 HS line leak checks are done, at SHC and TCS. SHC: Helium spray. TCS: Helium  pressurize 70psi.  LD base LR 0.0 X E-9 atm.cc/sec.  No leak has been found on both leak checks.

1772   Thursday, August 30, 2018, 07:46 David WangConditioning StationStandard OperationTM4 TM4 HS line leak check at TCS and SHC.

Chad and I leak checked TM4 HS line after UCx 24 is installed. No leak at 5xE-9atm.cc/sec.  Today, I did helium pressure test on HS line at TCS. No leak at 70 psi helium 0.0xE-9 atm.cc/sec.

Both helium spray and helium pressurize on TM4 HS line withUCx31 target are done at SHC and TCS. No leak.

411   Thursday, July 25, 2013, 10:08 David WangConditioning StationStandard OperationTM4SiC #29TM4 HS helium pressure test andTM4 connection at CS

Bevan and I did a helium pressure test on TM4 HS water circuit at CS. The leak detector is pumped to the bottom scale(E-9 atm.cc/sec and E-4torr). We applied 70 psi helium to the HS circuit for 3 minutes .  No response had been found. I also leak checked IG1 flange which was replaced yesterday. It is  good. We connected the TM4 to CS and put the HV cover on. The water cooling system will be started soon.

The febiad coil line removed from TM4 has been cut into pieces small enough to be disposed of in a 5 gal pal. The line was cut with a Ridgid Model 104 manual pipe cutter (using the manipulators of course).

This pieces constitute the bulk of the field in the hot cell and will be disposed of with the next spent target.

  2566   Tuesday, April 23, 2024, 17:34 Carla BabcockSouth Hot-CellRepairTM3 TM3 wire pulling

Wires were pulled in TM3 and service cap was closed up again:

Einzel lens wire (30kV kapton), routed in the pumping duct and attached with #10 ring tongue to EZL feedthrough in service cap

4 steerer wires, routed in th pumping duct and attached with push on connectors to the 4 SHV feedthroughs on the module side panel. Coax grounding sheath is cut back by about 3cm.

Multipin cable bundle #1, routed through the left cable tube in the service tray then along the heat shield water lines (with PEEK zip ties) to feedthrough A.

Multipin cable bundle #2, routed through the right cable tube in the service tray then along the heat shield water lines (with PEEK zip ties) to feedthrough B. This bundle contains the EE wire as well, which was branched out after exiting the service tray and routed along the gas lines to the EE feedthough. It was attached with a smaller (size?) ring tongue to the EE feedthrough. Do not use this wire again, very fragile. Use the Accuglass 30kV wire instead.

The multipin wires touch the back of the water blocks in the source tray (same as in MT2/4, so far no issues with that) and they also touch the COIL lines in the service cap.

The EZL and steerer wires are routed along the floor of the service cap.

Due to the difficulty of the installation, there is no metal braid over the multipin bundles in the service cap.
