David Wang | ITW | Standard Operation | TM2 | | TM2 has been connectec in ITW. |
TM2 has been connected in ITW. During the connection, Anders and I found the TM2 high current cables used in ITE and CS are short in ITW. Anders and Grant found the original TM2 ITE high current cables in target hall. We replaced them. They works fine. But, a little bit longer on cable length would be easy to connect them. All other connections and HV cover in ITW work for the TM2 so far. |

David Wang | South Hot-Cell | Repair | TM2 | | TM2 first round leak check in SHC |
Chad and I finished the first round check on Tm2 water lines. The lines and spots checked are: Target oven + and - (front side braze joints) , Tube heater+and -(front side braze joints and water blocks), coil2 and coil 1(front side braze joints and area close to water blocks),. No leak has been found on all above of them. The last, we checked the GE which has the biggest leak so far. The leak detector base leak rate only can get to 4XE-9 atm.cc/sec. Chad sprayed helium very close to GE water block, and I got a quick response on leak detector. The leak rate climbed from 4Xe-9 atm.cc/sec to 1.4 atm.cc/sec. We confirmed the GE is leaking now. The exact location need to be pinpointed later once the containment box is out after the module is back to SHC. The module will be moved to TCS tomorrow morning and pressurized again there. Anders will use RGA to monitor the helium response during the check. |

Carla Babcock | ITE | Repair | TM2 | ZrC#8 | TM2 electrical checks in ITE |
Ramped voltage on TM2 up to 30kV with no problems. Bias current is at 29uA, same as original TM2 bias current (see archiver for ITE June 15th, before protons) and similar to 31uA right after protons went off on Aug. 6.
TGHT=0A
TBHT=0A
BIAS V=30kV
BIAS current = 29uA
EZL V= 15kV
EZL current= 51uA
EE V= 1kV
EE current= 0.952mA
IG1= 8.6e-7
protons=0
This seems ok despite poor electrical checks showing 300 MOhm resistance between HV and ground. These values indicate a resistance of 1 GOhm. Let's see what happens when protons are on.
For future (optimistic) reference when testing protons:
BIAS=35kV, 35uA
EZL-17.5kV, 60uA
BIAS=38kV, 37uA
EZL=18.5kV, 63uA |

David Wang | Conditioning Station | Standard Operation | TM2 | | TM2 electrical check and leack check. |
I did electrical check before and after Fefiad target installation on TM2. The RU (coil) Is till short to 60KV as before. Other result are good. After Febiad target is installed, Tm2 HS line is leak checked. On leak detector, base leak rate pumping down is much slow than before. The base pressure still could be pumped down to 0.0XE-4 torr. After a long time wait, Chad and I leak checked at 2.2XE-8 atm.cc/sec base leak rate. Chad sprayed lots helium around the fittings and target. No any response has been found on LD. At this leak rate, the target and HS line is leak tight. The Tm2 has been moved to THC so a heium pressure check will be fulfilled on HS line at TCS to confirm this leak check result.
TM2 HS line is pressurized with 70 psi helium at TCS. LD base leak rate: 0.0 X E-9 atm.cc/sec. Base pressure 0.0XE-4 torr. 5 minutes test time. The leak rate slowly climed to 3.3XE-9 atm.cc/sec and stabled there( 3minutes). base pressure no change. The leak is too small to be concern. We will run this target as this condition.

David Wang | Conditioning Station | Standard Operation | TM3 | No target | TM2 at TCS annual electrical check and water lines helium pressure check . |
TM2 has been moved to TCS and under good vacuum. TP1/2 work fine. Electrical check: A to PQ still dead short. B to C @250V 3.8M which is ok still . We knew these two things before. Other things are good. Vacuum: air to vacuum seals on TM2 service cap are good. Helium pressure test on all water lines are good. HS line no target so can't be tested. But We did helium pressure test on each target change so it's fine.

David Wang | Conditioning Station | Repair | TM2 | Dummy target | TM2 at CS |
TM2 has been moved to CS. All turbo-pumps have been started. The pumping down is good so far. I connected the leak detector to service cap, and finished the leak check today. The LD base LR:0.0Xe-9atm.cc/sec. 80psi helium were applied to coil1, coil 2. HS and window circuits, each for 2minutes. No any response has been found on LD. So all water lines are leak tight now. I also sprayed helium to top service cap checking all air to vacuum seals. They are all good either. But, The new installed PGN1 does not work. Other thing need to mention is The TP2 is running at 2.45A which is 1A higher comparing to TP1. It need to be monitored to see if we have to replace it or not. The high current cables and water lines will be connected tomorrow morning. |
