The pumps have been turned on at ~9:30 this morning. Current values are 6.61 Mohm TCS:DIC1 @19.4 C. HV testing will start momentarily.

363   Monday, May 27, 2013, 10:37 Bevan MossConditioning StationMaintenanceTM4 Cooling Systems topped off

Rob walker has flushed and refilled the primary side of the system (note the water still looks nasty). This morning the primary side of system needed to be bled as there were air pockets. Also TK2 had reached its low point and needed to be topped up.

  367   Monday, May 27, 2013, 16:07 Bevan MossConditioning StationStandard OperationTM4Ta #40HV conditioning

The HV conditioning reached a maximum of 44kV today before a spark took out the canbus card. I will attach the data once I have had a chance to format it.

Argon venting has started. It will be left to vent over night.

  369   Tuesday, May 28, 2013, 10:37 Travis CaveITEStandard OperationTM4Ta#40module move

TM#4 with Ta #40 moved from the conditioning station to the east target station, move went well.

Results of the electrical check on  TM#4 with Ta#40, it passed. See attached PDF for results.

371   Wednesday, May 29, 2013, 06:32 David WangITEStandard OperationTM4Ta#40TM4 has been connected in ITE.

TM4 has been connected in ITE. The pumping down is fine so far.TM4 water interlock check was done yesterday.

374   Tuesday, June 04, 2013, 12:36 David WangITEStandard OperationTM4 5 shielding blocks are transferred from ITW to ITE

Dan an I  transferred 5 shielding blocks from ITW to ITE. The ITE is configured to take proton beam.

TM4 has been disconnected in ITE. All water lines on TM4 have been purged. ITE is venting now.

  405   Tuesday, July 23, 2013, 10:55 Travis CaveITEStandard OperationTM4Ta#40module move

TM#4 with Ta#40 has been moved from the east target station to the south hot cell move went well.

  407   Wednesday, July 24, 2013, 08:40 Travis CaveSouth Hot-CellStandard OperationTM4SiC#29Electrical check

Electrical check on TM#4 with SiC#29 has been done. The reading of the magnet coil and 60kV common is low at 750 ohms, normally this infinite. Awaiting further instruction on if this is a pass or fail. See attached PDF for the rest of the details.

  408   Wednesday, July 24, 2013, 14:40 Travis CaveConditioning StationStandard OperationTM4SiC#29module move

TM#4 with SiC#29 has been moved from the south hot cell to the conditioning station move went well.

  409   Wednesday, July 24, 2013, 17:46 David WangConditioning StationStandard OperationTM4Sic 29#Started 3 turbo pumps on CS for TM4

3 turbo pumps on TM4 and CS have been started. The pumping down is good so far, The TM4 PNG1 reading is more than 10 times higher than IG1 which is at the same chamber. It could be a controller problem.  Other 3 high vacuum gauges behavior normal.  The TM4 IG1 is replaced today and it works fine now.

  410   Thursday, July 25, 2013, 09:37 Travis CaveConditioning StationStandard OperationTM4SiC#29Electrical check

Electrical check of TM#4 with SiC#29 attached. Results are pretty much the same as yesterday for the coil to 60kV common, and anode to 60kV common. See attached pdf for details.

411   Thursday, July 25, 2013, 10:08 David WangConditioning StationStandard OperationTM4SiC #29TM4 HS helium pressure test andTM4 connection at CS

Bevan and I did a helium pressure test on TM4 HS water circuit at CS. The leak detector is pumped to the bottom scale(E-9 atm.cc/sec and E-4torr). We applied 70 psi helium to the HS circuit for 3 minutes .  No response had been found. I also leak checked IG1 flange which was replaced yesterday. It is  good. We connected the TM4 to CS and put the HV cover on. The water cooling system will be started soon.

  414   Tuesday, July 30, 2013, 10:44 Travis CaveITEStandard OperationTM4SiC#29module move

TM#4 with SiC #29 has been moved from the conditioning station to the east target station, move went well.

415   Tuesday, July 30, 2013, 14:42 David WangITEStandard OperationTM4 TM4 has been connected in ITE.

TM4 has been connected in ITE. All turbo pumps have been started now. The pumping down on TM4 and ITE is good so far. The water interlock check on TM4 is done, and everything is fine. The ITE  IG1 still couldnt be turned on even if we replaced a new TM4  IG1 at CS. The problem is on the connecting cable from ITE to electrical room or gauge controller. I talked with Friedhelm  and vacuum group will be noticed on this problem.

419   Thursday, August 15, 2013, 07:37 David WangITERepairTM4 I moved 5 shielding blocks from ITE to block storage area.

I moved5shielding blocks from ITE to block storage area, This is a job for preparing ITE vacuum surge investigation and leak check.

  421   Thursday, August 15, 2013, 16:35 Anders MjosITERepairTM4SiC#29Leak found on Coil 1

By pressurizing the water lines with 70 psi helium David and I detected a major leak on the Coil 1 circuit. The response maxed out on the leak rate on the leak detector and we could also see a pressure increase on the leak detector. ISAC controls reported a change in vacuum at the same time (link).

The Heat Shield and Coil 2 circuit was checked before we moved to Coil 1. No response was detected on these two circuits. We would like to check the remaining circuits as well, but this cannot be done today due to the large amount of helium still present. The remaining circuits will have to be checked tomorrow morning.
