Due to weak magnetic field on TM4 EE water flow wheel, we have two times intermittent water signal on this circuit this morning. I replaced the old wheel with a new one in ITE. I checked the signal frequency and strength. It looks fine now.

348   Wednesday, May 15, 2013, 16:51 Bevan MossConditioning StationStandard OperationTM3No Source TrayRepeat of HV Test

The HV test completed on Monday was repeated today over a much longer time period. By taking longer there was slightly less sparking but once again a maximum voltage of ~44kV was achieved. The  resistivity of the water was much higher during this run so the leakage current was less but still in the >100 uA range. The spark that occurred during the ramp up to the maximum voltage caused the "water resistivity" limit to trip. This was a feed back through the control not the actual water changing as it recovered instantaneously.

2352   Friday, July 29, 2022, 12:05 Carla BabcockNorth Hot-CellRepairTM2UCx#38Repair of UCx#38 EE short in ante room

UCx#38 developed a short between the plasma electrode and the extraction electrode about 30mins after reaching full temperature in the conditioning station. The decision was made to bring it into the anteroom and try to clean it there.

To do this, it was uninstalled, the parasitic attachments were removed and it was brought into the ante room.

I removed the EE and the PE, and cleaned quite a lot of material from them both with methanol. I think put the ionizer foil bar down the ionizer to help dislodge any material there, and I also turned the target over and tapped gently to get any material out. The first two times some flakes came out, the third time nothing came out. I then reinstalled the electrodes using the EE alignment tool (not sure how successfully, didn't push it into the ionizer too much because I was worried about catching the Rh foil).

The taret was meggered at 500V then reinstalled and electrical checks were done. Everything looks back to normal. Conditioning in ITW was successful.

2307   Thursday, February 17, 2022, 13:24 David WangSpent Target VaultMaintenance UCx #34Repackage of UCx #34in NHC.

UCX34# in pail 258(Vault lot 7C) has been repacked today. It is an investigation to find a possible leak source of radioactive Iodine in vault. The new pail number is 268. It is back to vault 7c . I wrote down the information in log book. The job is smooth today. I retrieved UCx 34 old pail and liner to TH. The liner from UCx#34 only has 3000 counts.  I bagged it. It could be used later. However, the pail has 500K counts contamination on bottom outside rim. It may accidently be slided out of plastic bag and touched the NHC table during the repackage. I bagged it and store it in silo area. When we do drum clean up, I will throw it in the drum.

Repack of 4 spent targets in TH and SHC.  SiC#37 to new pail249#. SiC#36 to new pail 250#. Nb#8 to new pail 247#, SiC#33 to new pail 248#.  They are all in mini storage. Also, UCx 31 are transferred to mini storage.  There are 5 spent targets in mini storage now.

2021-05-20: 5 spent targets have been loaded into F308's. We transferred two more spent targets into mini storage this morning for next week loading.

A 55 Gal. drum was remotely lowered into the south hot cell. It was then filled with compressable waste. Then the drum was remotely removed from the south hot cell. The drum measured about 20microSv/hr upon removal from the south hot cell.

2217   Tuesday, May 25, 2021, 15:59 Matthew GareauNorth Hot-CellDevelopment  Removed boot from left hot manipulator

Myself and Isaac removed the boot from the left hot manipulator.

- opened the hatch in the TH to get access to the top of the boot

- released the latch on the boot and loosened the boot from above

- closed TH hatch

- with the right manipulator we were able to detach the rest of boot

This test proved that we can remove a boot from the manipulator without having to enter into the hotcell.

Due to the physical restraints that the boot causes for the operator, we have decided to not reattach the boot with its current design.

A new design will be investigated to allow the boot to be fixed without twisting, which is the source of the problems.
