Travis Cave | Spent Target Vault | Standard Operation | | | Spent Target Assay |
For the week of November 7th 2011, four of a possible ten targets that are in storage were assayed. Targets are as follows:
Target General average field @ 1 metre from edge of pail
SiC#24 1.99 mSv/hr
Nb#4 3.89 mSv/hr
Ta#25 4.57 mSv/hr
Ta#37 0.47 mSv/hr
These four are all viable spent targets to be shipped. We still need another couple of days of "UNINTERRUPTED" time to assay the remaining six targets, for us to have enough to make a ship of five to Chalk River. |

Travis Cave | Spent Target Vault | Standard Operation | | | Spent Target Assay |
Spent target assay completed. A total of 16 target were looked at, 13 were low enough to be assayed and those 13 are at shippable levels, the other 3 of the 16 looked at were too hot to ship and assay. See attached pdf for complete details. |

Travis Cave | Spent Target Vault | Standard Operation | | | Spent Target Assay |
Ten targets have been assayed or had field measurements(they were too hot to ship but were assayed the last time an assay was done) done on them over the past two days. Of those that have been assayed we have total of ten shippable targets. See the attached PDF for the latest details of the storage vault. |

Travis Cave | Spent Target Vault | Repair | | Many | Spent Target Assay |
The spent target assay was aborted today after the first target was finished due to the very old computer that controls the camera and the vault door effectively died. The vault door had to be closed using the emergency door closing winch which worked so it passed that test. |

Adam Newsome | North Hot-Cell | Repair | | | Spare Telemanipulator: Y-Motion Linear Actuator Repair |
The linear actuator used for the Y-motion motor assistance on the spare telemanipulator was replaced and tested. It was observed around September 2021 that the former one which was installed was causing fuses to blow for the main 120 VAC power supply in the control box. After some troubleshooting, it was determined that the linear actuator itself did not operate smoothly - it was suspected that this caused motor overload due to additional friction. This suspicion was confirmed by operating the linear actuator independently with a power supply and measuring current draw. The part has been replaced by Thomson PPA90-58B65-08NXXX. Note: this part took over 1 year to arrive since it was first ordered. The spare telemanipulator is confirmed operational.
Update 2024-09-11: noting that this was for serial number 9351 |

During this repair it was noted that the Y-axis electrical translation is locked out when the Z-axis is in the fully retracted position (i.e. the Z-axis limit switch engaged). I have made a note of this in the operator manual (CRLD-1046-B Rev1 ) which can be found in docushare collection 26780 |
