David Wang | ITW | Standard Operation | | | TH Shut Down Activities Schedule Feb 23th- Apr 15th update |
TH shut down jobs are processing as scheduled this week. Discussed with Don, and we think the jobs scheduled in next week should be processed as we planned. See attachments for updated schedule.
I updated the schedule today. See attachment 3, 4 for updating. 2015-Mar-10.
2013-Mar -13, I updated the schedule to show the jobs we finished this week. See attachment 5,6 |

Grant Minor | ITW | Development | TM2 | | TM2 MK4 Optics Tray - banana plug bore modification (on bench) |
The MK4 optics tray prepared for TM2 (as per ITA6082) had an undersized bore for the banana plug, making insertion of the plug extremely difficult / impossible.
Reference stores parts were collected to check the fit: male plug 3-4/01152 and female jack 1-6/1201. The size of the female jack was checked with a #21 drill at .159".
The bore on the optics tray was drilled out dry using the #21 drill to the same depth as the original blind hole, by Maico and Dan McDonald. Chips were carefully collected in a rag, and the hole was blown out with compressed air.
The fit was checked to be snug but possible, using the male plug and the Remote Handling ultem base (ref ITA6023).
Redlines and photos are attached.

David Wang | ITW | Standard Operation | TM1 | UCx12 | ITW target pit o-ring seal replacement. |
Dan and I replaced ITW target pit o-ring seal(.275DIA X42"ID). It is an annual job before first beam to ITW. The old o-ring was moved and the groove was vacuum cleaned. The new o-ring has been installed properly. |

Anders Mjos | ITW | Maintenance | | | Resistance measured of TGHT and TBHT lines to ITW |
The new TBHT and TGHT power supplies were brough up to high current; 350 A and 420 A respectively. The TGHT power supply was limited by PLC to 420 A. The resistance calculated for both the TBHT and TGHT copper lines from the electrical services room to the ITW pit was 1.35 mOhm. See attached spreadsheet for details.
Dave Morris has been contacted to correct the current limit for the TGHT supply to 600 A. |

David Wang | ITW | Repair | TM1 | | ITW external water leak on dump circuit |
There was an external water leak in ITW during the last beam running time. The leak started after the shielding blocks transfer(May 22). It cause a constantly water level drop on S-tank(0.5 "/day average). Today , after the blocks are moved , the leak source has been found. Water seeped through a fitting on ITW dump circuit pressure gauge. The leak water slowly flow around the TM1 on the tank flange. most of them are dried out, but left some stain on dump module and tank flange. By closing the supply and return water valves on the ITW dump circuit, the leak is stopped now. We will fix this problem after the module is moved out and the radioactive field is low. See attachments. |

David Wang | ITW | Maintenance | TM2 | | ITW top tank flange clean up and r-ring replacement. |
During last run, ITW dump circuit had a water leak on an adaptor below the pressure gauge. The top tank flange, slot, and O-ring were water contaminated by the leak. I removed the old o- ring, cleaned up the flange and o-ring slot, and put a new o-ring into the flange. Some pictures will be attached in this mail later. |

David Wang | ITW | Standard Operation | TM2 | | TM2 has been connectec in ITW. |
TM2 has been connected in ITW. During the connection, Anders and I found the TM2 high current cables used in ITE and CS are short in ITW. Anders and Grant found the original TM2 ITE high current cables in target hall. We replaced them. They works fine. But, a little bit longer on cable length would be easy to connect them. All other connections and HV cover in ITW work for the TM2 so far. |
