TM#2 with ZrC#7 has been moved from the conditioning station to the west target station. |
Tuesday, September 01, 2015, 10:38, David Wang, ITW, Maintenance, TM2, , ITW top tank flange clean up and r-ring replacement.
|
During last run, ITW dump circuit had a water leak on an adaptor below the pressure gauge. The top tank flange, slot, and O-ring were water contaminated
by the leak. I removed the old o- ring, cleaned up the flange and o-ring slot, and put a new o-ring into the flange. Some pictures will be attached
in this mail later. |
Tuesday, September 01, 2015, 14:54, David Wang, ITW, Standard Operation, TM2, , TM2 has been connectec in ITW.
|
TM2 has been connected in ITW. During the connection, Anders and I found the TM2 high current cables used in ITE and CS are short in ITW.
Anders and Grant found the original TM2 ITE high current cables in target hall. We replaced them. They works fine. But, a little bit longer on cable length
would be easy to connect them. All other connections and HV cover in ITW work for the TM2 so far. |

Tuesday, September 08, 2015, 10:11, David Wang, ITW, Standard Operation, TM2, ZrC, 5 Shielding blocks have been transferred from ITE to ITW.
|
Maico and Dan moved 5 shielding blocks from ITE to ITW. The ITW is configured to take proton beam. |
Friday, September 11, 2015, 14:31, Anders Mjos, Conditioning Station, Maintenance, TM2, ZrC#7, Vacuum gauge and EPICS read back calibration
|
The corelation betwenn the local value on the gauge controllers and the read back valiues in EPICS was compared. Data can be found in a previous e-log |
Wednesday, October 14, 2015, 12:42, David Wang, ITW, Standard Operation, TM2, ZrC#7, TM2 has been disconnected in ITW
|
Dan and I disconnected TM2 in ITW this morning. |
Wednesday, October 14, 2015, 12:44, David Wang, ITW, Standard Operation, TM2, ZrC#7, TM2 has been moved from ITW to SHC
|
Bill and I remotely removed TM2 from ITW to SHC. The move is smooth. |
Wednesday, October 14, 2015, 12:48, David Wang, South Hot-Cell, Standard Operation, TM2, ZrC#7, TM2 ZrC#7 after run electrical check at SHC.
|
I did an electrical check on TM2 with ZrC #7 on it. The EE is short to 60KV bias. See attachment |
Wednesday, October 14, 2015, 14:03, chad fisher, South Hot-Cell, Standard Operation, TM2, ZrC#7, ZrC#7 removed
|
ZrC#7 has been removed from TM2. Everything looks good. |
Wednesday, October 14, 2015, 14:49, David Wang, South Hot-Cell, Standard Operation, TM2, , Install new high current cables to TM2
|
I installed a set of new high current cables for TM2 Febiad run. The top of TM2 is configured to Febiad mode. See attachments |
Thursday, October 15, 2015, 08:07, David Wang, South Hot-Cell, Standard Operation, TM2, no target, TM2 no target electrical check at SHC.
|
I did a TM2 no target electrical check at SHC this morning. A to RU at 500v is 250K which is low. anode- x pin is dead short to 60kv
bias. RU is dead short to 60kv bias( as before). see attachment |
Thursday, October 15, 2015, 14:17, chad fisher, South Hot-Cell, Repair, TM2, , Anode Connector Install and adjustment
|
The TM2 containment box was removed this morning for installation of the 9 pin connector...connection.
The 9 pin connector copper tube connection was made and Anders advised on routing of the cable to the banana plug water block connection.
Short was diagnosed (short disappeared when water block was pushed slightly towards center of module) and thicker Ultem spacer installed and tested |
Monday, October 19, 2015, 11:53, chad fisher, South Hot-Cell, Standard Operation, TM2, SiC#32, SiC#32 installed on TM2
|
SiC#32 has been installed on TM2. High current fasteners torqued to 130 in lbs. |
Monday, October 19, 2015, 15:52, Anders Mjos, South Hot-Cell, Standard Operation, TM2, SiC#32, Electrical and leak check
|
An electrical check was completed by Travis C and Anders M. Note ~250 kOhm between Target and 60 kV common. Leak check was done by Dan M and Chad
F on HS and Window circuits. No leaks found |
Tuesday, October 20, 2015, 10:18, Travis Cave, ITW, Standard Operation, TM2, SiC#32, Module moved
|
TM#2 with SiC#32 has been moved from the south hot cell to the west target station. |
Wednesday, October 21, 2015, 11:58, Anders Mjos, South Hot-Cell, Development, TM2, ZrC#7, Extraction Electrode inspection
|
The failed extraction electrode was inspected in the hot cell this morning by Anders and Chad. The following electrical measurements were taken
EE on target assembly as recieved from TM after online operation. 14 Ohm
EE removed from target assembly and placed on
conductive flat surface. ~1 G-Ohm at 1kV
EE installed back onto target assembly (fasteners not tightened).~ 0.8 G-Ohm at 1 kV

Thursday, February 25, 2016, 09:27, David Wang, ITW, Standard Operation, TM2, , TM2 has been disconnected in ITW
|
TM2 has been disconnected in ITW (except vacuum lines). The vacuum system is still operating. |
Wednesday, March 02, 2016, 09:51, David Wang, ITW, Standard Operation, TM2, , all water lines on TM2 and TM4 are purged.
|
All water lines on TM2 and TM4 are purged for upcoming water lines helium pressure test. |
Wednesday, March 02, 2016, 10:04, David Wang, ITW, Standard Operation, TM2, , Leak check on ITW and TM2.
|
Dan and I leak checked TM2 and ITW primary vacuum vessel. It was found a 1X E-7 atm.cc/sec leak on top T flange seal between TM2 and dump module in first
time check. But it is not a repeatable leak. I checked the same spot and around area two more times with increased helium volume. It did not show up again.
The first response could be a helium drift to dry scroll pump. I will check it again later. The primar vacuum vessel on ITW and TM2 are leak free. |
