TM2 has been connected to ITW. Turbo pumps are stared. ITW pumping down is fine so far.

Entry  Monday, January 18, 2021, 12:29, David Wang, ITW, Standard Operation, TM2, Nb#9, ITW vacuum and TM2 water lines leak check .

ITW primary and secondary vacuum vessel leak check are done. There is a 5XE-8 atm.cc/sec leak on Exit service cap NW side square panel.  The leak is small. And, it is close to ITW TP3 so it is not affect ion beam line vacuum during operation. We will replace the seal on the panel later.   The rest leak check on air to vacuum seals are good. TM2 water lines are pressurized with 70 psi helium. We did it  3 hours after water lines are purged. No leak was showed during the check.

2021-02-24th: The o-ring on exit 1 NW side square panel is replaced by David Wang and Frank Song.

Maico and Travis moved blocks from ITE to ITW yesterday

Entry  Wednesday, July 11, 2018, 15:09, Anders Mjos, ITW, Maintenance, TM2, Nb#8, Uncovered ITW to toubleshoot 2A2M19

The 2A2M19 beam profile monitor did not work and was e-faulted. After initial troubleshooting 2 blocks were removed form ITW to inspect the entrance module where the beam monitor is installed. The cable was found not to be connected and was quickly fixed. Blocks reinstalled. The work was done by Maico, Travis and Anders

ITW Entrance Module was leak checked yesterday with the support of Vacuum Group (Dimo & Edi). The leak detector was connected to primary backing vacuum line. A leak response was found near the bellow for the beam profile monitor on top of the Entrance Module. It could be confirmed today by actuating the monitor, that the leak was indeed at that location. The plan is to move the TM and Entrance Module out for target exchange and repair, respectively. Drawings of the device available on ITA0200and ITA5128

The spent Nb#8 target was moved from the south hot cell to the spent target vault. It was placed in pail #168 and place in spot 2A in the vault. See the attached pdf for vault details.

Entry  Tuesday, September 18, 2012, 13:41, David Wang, South Hot-Cell, Standard Operation, TM1, Nb#7, leak check heat shield circuit

Chad and i did a leak check on TM1 heat shield circuit with new Nb#7 target installed. It took about 5 mins pump down the circuit to leak rate 0.0x E-9atm.cc/sec and 0.0x E-4 torr on leak detector.

All vacuum lines and joints which connected to the leak detector had been helium sprayed and they are leak  tight. Chad sprayed helium on each VCR joints for 2 seconds every time. During 45sec waiting time, there is no any response on leak detector. Chad repeated same test again for double checking and we got same result. Chad finally flushed the helium around the target heat shield for 10 seconds.we waited for 45minute and found no response on the leak detector. The heat shield circuit is leak tight at this stage. I will do a helium pressure test on this circuit when TM1 is in CS and under vacuum.

Nb #7 was installed and tested today.

Inside face of the containment box cover was cleaned with methanol and a baseline picture taken in an effort to track deposits and marking as requested bty Anders.

TM#1 with Nb#7 attached was electrically checked at the south hot cell yesterday, see attached pdf for details. Some notes about this test the oven to the 60kV common is 2Mohm this was noticed on the target prior to installation on the module, and the 60kV common to chassis is low at 874Mohm (low as in a non infinite value).

Leak detector pumped down to base LR1.3xE-9 atm.cc/sec, and BP 8xE-3 torr. All high vacuum gauge readings at CS and TM1 are at low -6 range from 1.2xE-6torr to 4.6x E-6 torr. Applied 80 psi helium  to heat shield circuit for 5minutes and there is no any response on leak detector. The heat shield circuit is leak tight.

Entry  Tuesday, September 25, 2012, 14:33, David Wang, ITW, Standard Operation, TM1, Nb#7, TM1connected in ITW

TM 1 is in ITW now. All connections are done. The turbo pumps had been started this afternoon. The vacuum looks good so far. The water interlock check which related to TM1 are done. They are good. All TM1 water signals are visually checked and they are strong.  The rest interlock check ( MCR XT page) will be finished before shielding blocks moving. The MAA is locked and ITE is ready for proton beam.

Entry  Tuesday, October 02, 2012, 11:47, David Wang, ITW, Standard Operation, TM1, Nb#7, I moved 5 shielding blocks from ITE to ITW.

5 shielding blocks have been moved from ITE to ITW. ITW is configured to take proton beam now.
