During the TM2 HV test at CS, It failed. In order to confirm there is no any water leak inside the module after the heaters and beam extraction test, I disconnected all the water lines on the TM2, and purged the water lines with pressure air. Leak detector was reconnected back to the TM2 service cap, and all water lines are pressurized with 80psi helium again each for 2 minutes. No any leak had been found during the test. All the water lines are still perfectly sealed. Also, I checked all the vacuum to air seals on the top of the module. They are good either.  Anders used the RGA  tracking the helium during the test. No leak.

The pumping down on TM2 at CS was good overnight. However, the back up line pressure is still too high for LD to get to 0.0-E-9atm.cc/sec . It only could get to 1.2xE-7 atm.cc/sec. It is not enough for a good leak check . I dont want to have any ambiguous situation on this" D" line leak check. So,I am going to reconfigure the leak detector to the spare KF25 pot on the TM2 service cap. All pumps are stopped . The CS and TM2 will be vented soon. After that, a manual valve will be installed on that spare KF25 pot for future helium pressure check at CS. Then, The TM2 and CS will be pumped down again.

TM2 at SMP under vacuum. TM4 at silo.  Frank and I did the tests. Everything is fine on TM4 check.  On TM2,  all mega test at 500V are around 200K ohms which is so abnormal. We will move TM2 to TCS and  start investigation there.

Fiberglass that fell out yesterday was put back in place (as well as possible).

Cleaning took place this morning with excellent results. Cleaning was performed with red scotch brite on the cleaning tool, air pressure at 40 psi while running, with one 60 second cycle. Three blocks (EE, HS and Window) needed a second pass to remove the indium.

Polishing commenced with 2000 grit wet sand paper. Paper was wet with isopropynol. 60 second cycles for double seal blocks, 30 second for singles. The 2000 grit pass was completed.

Polishing will finish tomorrow morning as well as removal of optics tray from source tray in preparartion for insertion of the source tray into the module tomorrow afternoon or Friday morning.

First picture is Tube heater Circuit D block before cleaning and second picture is after cleaning.

Entry  Tuesday, June 23, 2015, 14:19, chad fisher, South Hot-Cell, Repair, TM2, , TM2 Water Block Jigs Removed 20150623_140917.jpg

Both halves of the water block jigs have been removed and the module is now ready for base vacuum leak and electrical checks.

During removal of the jigs the fiberglass that had been "shoved" by hand in between two of the lines in the early 2000's fell out again.

Entry  Wednesday, June 24, 2015, 10:16, chad fisher, South Hot-Cell, Repair, TM2, , TM2 Vacuum Leak Check

The following circuits have been vacuum leak checked and have not registered any leaks:

Circuit D, C, B, A, Coil2, EE, Ground Electrode, Mounting Support plate, Coil 1.

Left are Heat Shield and Window circuits which will be checked after blank offs are installed on the vcr terminations.

Master target jig installed to locate attachment bracket ITA3389 as well as conductor insulator block b (aluminum / for soldering version) and oven conductor blocks (ITD0353 and 03356).

There were NO ITA6145 fasteners or TGN0076 either. Standard 1/4-20 x 1" fasteners have been used in there place for now. Keith is following up with getting the missing fasteners into the shop.

Oven conductor blocks will have to be lapped before lines are attached as they both have dents on the high current mating surfaces.
