Wednesday, May 15, 2019, 16:06, Isaac Earle, Safe Module Parking, Development, , , SMP module support flange installed and leak checked
|
The SMP module support flange sub-assembly (IRH1755) was installed today according to drawing IRH1683. Dow Corning 111 sealing compound was used
to keep the o-ring adhered to the lower groove during transportation and installation. The TCS shield plug (IRH1646) was then installed on the SMP
module flange which has vacuum connections for leak checking. Vacuum was pulled on the SMP vessel using the Varian 979 leak detector. After |

Wednesday, May 22, 2019, 11:50, David Wang, ITE, Standard Operation, TM4, , TM2 has been connected in ITE.
|
TM2 has been connected in ITE. high active water system and vacuum pumps are started. The pumping down on TM2 and ITE is good so far.
See attachment for connection checklist. |
Wednesday, May 22, 2019, 11:52, David Wang, Conditioning Station, Maintenance, TM1, , TM1 inpsection.
|
TM1 shielding plates and their holding bolts are inspected. No corrosion. TM1 is located at TCS now. Both TP1 and TP2 are started. |
Thursday, May 23, 2019, 11:22, Travis Cave, South Hot-Cell, Maintenance, , , Removing garbage from the south hot cell.
|
A 55 Gal. drum was remotely lowered into the south hot cell. It was then filled with compressable waste. Then the drum was remotely removed from
the south hot cell. The drum measured about 20microSv/hr upon removal from the south hot cell. |
Tuesday, June 04, 2019, 08:46, David Wang, ITE, Standard Operation, TM2, , ITE water signal interlock check.
|
ITE water signal interlock check is done. Everything is good. Coil 2 circuit no longer used in ITE . PQRU are looped as one circuit fro coil 1
circuit on Module since now. |
Friday, June 07, 2019, 13:11, David Wang, Conditioning Station, Development, TM4, , TCS and TM4.
|
TM4 has been connected at TCS for HV test. TCS water system and vacuum pumps are switched on. |
Monday, June 10, 2019, 14:13, Travis Cave, Spent Target Vault, Standard Operation, , , Old TM#4 source tray moved
|
The old TM#4 source tray in the south hot cell was moved to the spent target vault. The tray had a low of 7.5mSv/hr to a high of 22.1mSv/hr though
a 390 degree rotation. |
Thursday, June 13, 2019, 10:55, David Wang, Conditioning Station, Repair, TM4, , TM4 HV test at TCS without source tray.
|
I brought up TCS bias to 57.5 KV on TM4 without source tray at TCS. It was kept at this level about 1.0 hours. Some intermediate sparks. No spark trip
on devices. 57.5KV is very close to the HV up limit of this module. |
Friday, June 14, 2019, 08:15, David Wang, ITE, Standard Operation, TM2, , 5 shielding blocks are moved to ITE.
|
ITE is configured to take proton beam. |
Thursday, June 20, 2019, 15:09, Isaac Earle, Safe Module Parking, Development, , , SMP motor wiring inspected by electrician
|
The AC wiring for the SMP motor was inspected by Randy Boehm (TRIUMF electrician) as recommended by Franco Mammarella (TRIUMF electrical engineer).
After inspecting the system Randy required the following changes:
AC wiring inside the control panel be increased to 16awg minimum (14awg preferred)
Wiring between the control panel and |
Friday, June 21, 2019, 07:16, David Wang, South Hot-Cell, Development, TM4, , TM4 new source tray leak check at SHC.
|
New source tray was installed on TM4 yesterday. LD was used to pump down all water lines. Tube heater +D circuit has a big leak around water block
area. At base LR5.5 XE-5 atm.cc/sec, base pressure 170 mtorr, When Chad moved this helium probe close to water block area, The leak rate on
LD went to maximum level right away. When the probe was moved out of water block area, the LR went back to base level. The test repeated again with same |

July 3:
- Assembled exhaust line flexible hose and fittings as per ISK0529 Rev D then leak checked: 1.4E-1 Torr test port pressure, 1.1E-7 atm-cc/s leak
rate, no response to helium spray at both ends of flexible line (all vacuum fittings purchased from Kurt Lesker under Requisition #1046936)

Monday, July 15, 2019, 13:29, David Wang, Conditioning Station, Development, TM4, , Vacuum surge when TM4 B line iwas supplied with water.
|
Yesterday, TM4 B line was supplied with water at TCS for testing. TCS: IG1 and IG2 had big response on it. See attachment. The water was disconnected
right away, and line was purged. Vacuum recovered after overnight pump. |
Friday, July 26, 2019, 11:28, David Wang, South Hot-Cell, Standard Operation, TM4, , TM4 move from SHC to TCS.

Electrical check on TM4 with spare test target. PQ is still shorted to RU. But, The short between 60KV bias and PQRU which we found last time is gone.
Target to PQRU at 250V mega measurement: 22.08 M. All conductivity between ABCD are about 5.0 m ohm which are good. All other ohm meter and Mega measurements
are OL. Helium spray leak check on HS target VCR fittings is passed. Two blank offs are installed on source tray window cool lines. They passed leak |

The SMP vacuum control system has been wired and setup to be controlled from EPICS. Backing valve control (SMP:BV1) was tested by connecting
to the turbo pump solenoid on TM3 located in the silo directly north of the SMP. The SMP pump (SMP:MP1) was turned on and off through the EPICS interface
and responded as expected. Both convectron gauges (SMP:CG1 and SMP:CG2) responded as expected when the pump was turned on. The readings from |
