Monday, August 26, 2013, 18:26, Grant Minor, Conditioning Station, Standard Operation, TM3, , TM3 moved from Hot Cell to Conditioning Station
|
Target Module 3 with no target, and a partially-installed Rev-3 source tray (no steerers connected, no IMG connected, entrance window lines blanked off
on module side and not connected to containment box) was transported successfully to the Conditioning Station by Travis Cave and David Wang at around 4pm
today. David attached the vacuum system for start of pump-down to prepare for leak checking. |
Monday, August 26, 2013, 18:22, Grant Minor, South Hot-Cell, Repair, TM3, , TM3 Rev 3 - all connetions made except steerers, IMG, and entrance window 8x
|
Today Chad finished making all connections to the new source tray, except for:
- steerers - broken wire, must be repaired at a later date
- IMG gauge - bracket required, old bracket thrown out with previous tray by accident, see ITA3301, must be installed at a later date |
Friday, August 23, 2013, 18:32, Grant Minor, South Hot-Cell, Repair, TM3, , TM3 Rev 3 - steerer wire broken from connector on module side
|
While continuing on the TM3 Rev 3 source tray installation, Chad noticed today that one of the steerer wires is broken and has come out of the thermocouple-style
connecter block (see attached photos).
From drawing ITA2826 (Rev D02 attached) it is likely that this is for either the "upper" or "right side" steerer plate. |
Thursday, August 22, 2013, 19:38, Grant Minor, South Hot-Cell, Repair, TM3, , TM3 Rev 3 source tray - water blocks connected and torqued 6x
|
After a great struggle with the water block jigs, the TM3 source tray was finally advanced fully into the service tray and all water blocks were connected
and torqued to spec in the hot cell by Chad Fisher.
Notes and description of problems encountered during the installation: |
Wednesday, August 21, 2013, 20:36, Grant Minor, South Hot-Cell, Repair, TM3, , TM3 module-side water block sealing surface inspection (post polishing)
|
The water block sealing surfaces on the module-side of TM3 were polished this week by Chad Fisher, using his air-ratchet controlled rotating head tools
(single and double-surface polishing tools).
Photos of the polishing tools in-use are attached (from August 16 - 21, 2013) |
Monday, August 19, 2013, 10:08, Anders Mjos, ITE, Repair, TM4, SiC#29, Leak Check
|
All water circuits except Coil 1 were leak checked by David and Anders. No obvious signals were detected except some small possible responses. See attached
notes for details. |
Thursday, August 15, 2013, 16:35, Anders Mjos, ITE, Repair, TM4, SiC#29, Leak found on Coil 1
|
By pressurizing the water lines with 70 psi helium David
and I detected a major leak on the Coil 1 circuit. The response maxed out on the leak rate on the leak detector and we could also see a pressure increase |
Thursday, August 15, 2013, 09:32, chad fisher, South Hot-Cell, Repair, TM3, , TM3 source tray installation status
|
The installation of the module side water block jig has been successful.
During initial attempts yesterday afternoon,
installation of the jig proved, as expected to be extremely difficult. This was primarily due a poorly position water block from a previous repair were |
Thursday, August 15, 2013, 07:37, David Wang, ITE, Repair, TM4, , I moved 5 shielding blocks from ITE to block storage area.
|
I moved5shielding blocks from ITE to block storage area, This is a job for preparing ITE vacuum surge investigation and leak check. |
Wednesday, August 14, 2013, 11:50, Travis Cave, South Hot-Cell, Maintenance, TM3, , module move
|
TM#3 and its new source tray have been both moved into the south hot cell. |
Wednesday, August 07, 2013, 06:47, maicodallavalle, Spent Target Vault, Maintenance, , , F-308
|
All the F-308's have been torqued up and the locks installed. Ready to be moved. |
Wednesday, July 31, 2013, 11:13, Travis Cave, Spent Target Vault, Standard Operation, , , Spent target move
|
Five spent targets have been removed from the storage vault and placed into the mini storage. The target placed into the mini storage are UO#3, UC#'s
3,4,5 and SIC#23. See attached PDFs for vault details. |
Tuesday, July 30, 2013, 14:42, David Wang, ITE, Standard Operation, TM4, , TM4 has been connected in ITE.
|
TM4 has been connected in ITE. All turbo pumps have been started now. The pumping down on TM4 and ITE is good so far. The water interlock check on TM4
is done, and everything is fine. The ITE IG1 still couldnt be turned on even if we replaced a new TM4 IG1 at CS. The problem is on the connecting
cable from ITE to electrical room or gauge controller. I talked with Friedhelm and vacuum group will be noticed on this problem. |
Tuesday, July 30, 2013, 10:44, Travis Cave, ITE, Standard Operation, TM4, SiC#29, module move
|
TM#4 with SiC #29 has been moved from the conditioning station to the east target station, move went well. |
Monday, July 29, 2013, 14:32, Travis Cave, Spent Target Vault, Standard Operation, , Ta#40, Spent target move
|
Spent target Ta#40 has been placed into storage. The target was placed in pail #107 and was put into slot 5A of the vault. It had a field of 224mSv/hr
upon removal from the south hot cell. See attached PDF for more details. |
Friday, July 26, 2013, 11:06, David Wang, South Hot-Cell, Standard Operation, , , The steel shielding plug has been put on theSHC top in target hall
|
to reduce the radioactive shining from SHC Ta# 40 target. |
Thursday, July 25, 2013, 10:08, David Wang, Conditioning Station, Standard Operation, TM4, SiC #29, TM4 HS helium pressure test andTM4 connection at CS
|
Bevan and I did a helium pressure test on TM4 HS water circuit at CS. The leak detector is pumped to the bottom scale(E-9 atm.cc/sec and E-4torr). We
applied 70 psi helium to the HS circuit for 3 minutes . No response had been found. I also leak checked IG1 flange which was replaced yesterday.
It is good. We connected the TM4 to CS and put the HV cover on. The water cooling system will be started soon. |
Thursday, July 25, 2013, 09:37, Travis Cave, Conditioning Station, Standard Operation, TM4, SiC#29, Electrical check
|
Electrical check of TM#4 with SiC#29 attached. Results are pretty much the same as yesterday for the coil to 60kV common, and anode to 60kV common. See
attached pdf for details. |
Wednesday, July 24, 2013, 17:46, David Wang, Conditioning Station, Standard Operation, TM4, Sic 29#, Started 3 turbo pumps on CS for TM4
|
3 turbo pumps on TM4 and CS have been started. The pumping down is good so far, The TM4 PNG1 reading is more than 10 times higher than IG1 which is at
the same chamber. It could be a controller problem. Other 3 high vacuum gauges behavior normal. The TM4 IG1 is replaced today and it works
fine now. |
Wednesday, July 24, 2013, 14:40, Travis Cave, Conditioning Station, Standard Operation, TM4, SiC#29, module move
|
TM#4 with SiC#29 has been moved from the south hot cell to the conditioning station move went well. |
