2410   Wednesday, January 25, 2023, 06:52 David WangITEStandard OperationTM4UCx#41ITE primary and secondary vacuum vessel air to vacuum seals leak check.

ITE primary and secondary vacuum vessel air to vacuum seals leak check was done this week. One leak has been found on IG1S feed through to entrance module surface seal. It explains what we saw on ITE IG1S readings change(from low E-7 torr to 1Xe-6 torr) on December 22, 2022.  This leak seal will be replaced soon.

2023-Jan -27.  O-ring seal 229# was replaced on ITEIG1S feedthrough to entrance module surface sealing. Also o-ring seal 034# was replaced on the blank off cover beside the feed through to entrance module surface sealing. Since these o-rings are too close to each other. It is better to replace both of them to avoid misreading in leak check.

1446   Tuesday, March 07, 2017, 14:41 David WangITEMaintenance  ITE dump plug water circuit is closed for ITE IG1S small surge.

It is closed @ 2:35PM by closing supply side valve first , the return side valve of ITE dump plug .

Opened ITE dump plug circuit valves @4:28PM. ITE IG1S still at 1XE-6. No change before and after of circuit closing and reopeneing.

1464   Monday, March 27, 2017, 06:33 David WangITEStandard Operation  ITE clean up

ITE clean up is done.  HV cage inside is wiped.

1672   Tuesday, January 02, 2018, 11:28 David WangITEStandard OperationTM4 ITE annual water interlock check.

Eric and I finished ITE annual water interlock check. Everything works properly.

1868   Friday, February 15, 2019, 12:05 David WangITEMaintenanceTM4 ITE annual vacuum leak check.

Helium pressure test on all water lines: 70psi , 3 minutes. HS has a quick response to 9Xe-9atm.cc/sec for 20 seconds. No response on other lines. All water lines are good. Air to vacuum  leack check on ITE and TM4: TM4 IG1 / Steers side panel has a low E-6 atm.cc/sec leak. The o-ring need to be changed when TM4 is located at TCS. All other air to vacuum seals are good on both primary and secondary vacuum vessel.

2545   Thursday, February 15, 2024, 17:40 Carla BabcockITEStandard Operation  ITE annual HV testing

ITE was set up for HV tests - this time the module plug was not in so the BIAS and EE had to be bypassed. NOTE: ITE:BIASPLC must also be bypassed for this to work. Currently it is located on the vacuum bypasses page, but may be changed to the optics page soon.

ITE was ramped to 60kV in steps of 1kV easily. It sat at 60 for about 1.5 hours with a current draw around 173uA. It was not entirely stable though, and appears to have sparked many times. None of them seemed very large, but hard to tell.

When ramping down, current dropped quickly with the first couple steps. Data saved as isac/data/ITE_HVtesting_shutdown2024

2176   Wednesday, January 06, 2021, 10:39 David WangITEStandard OperationTM4 ITE and TM4 annual leak check.

Frank and I finished ITE and TM4 primary and secondary  vacuum vessel  leak check. LD bease leak rate 0.0x-9atm.cc/sec. No leak has been found. Also, All TM4 water lines have been pressurized with 70psi helium fro 3 minutes on each circuit. All water lines in TM4 are good. No resopne on LD during test.

1422   Wednesday, January 18, 2017, 09:55 David WangITEStandard OperationTM4 ITE and TM4 2017 winter shut down leak check.

ITE and TM4 2017 winter shut down leak check are finished. All ITE primary, secondary vacuum vessel and TM4 water lines are good. No any leak has been found.

67   Monday, January 09, 2012, 14:44 David WangITEMaintenanceTM4 ITE and TM4 2012 winter shut down leak check is completed.

I did a vacuum leak check on all ITE primary vacuum vessel and secondary vessel.I also did a helium pressure test(80psi ) on all TM4 water lines. There is no leak has been found.ITE and TM4 are both leak tight now.

ITE primary vacuum vessel and TM4 waterlines:

Hooked leak detector after TP1 between BV1. leak detector base pressure :0.0xe-4 torr. base leak rate:1.8x e-8 atm.cc/sec.sprayed helium around all TM4 and exit 1 ,2 module primary vessel including all flanges,  gauges, bellows, turbos, blank offs, etcThere is no  any response  on leak detector. All water lines  had been pressurized with 80 psi helium  for 5 minutes. The leak rate always stayed at 1.8xe-8 atm.cc/sec which is the base leak rate  on ITE this time, and no vacuum pressure change also. The TM4  water lines and ITE primary vacuum vessel are leak tight.

ITE secondary vacuum vessel:

Hooked leak detector after TP1S between BV1S. Leak detector base pressure :0.0xe-4 torr.Base leak rate:0.0xe-9 atm.cc/sec. Sprayed helium around all TM4,EXIt 1,2  module secondary vessel including alll flanges, gauges, air cylinders , valves, and blank-offs.There is no any response on leak detector . tThe late rate  kept at 0.0XE-9 ATM.CC/SEC, and no pressure change either. The ITE secondary vacuum vessel is leak tight.

ITE and ITW water system paddle wheels and coils on all flow sensors in pits have been replaced. It's a SAS job.

  733   Wednesday, August 13, 2014, 12:21 David WangITERepairTM4UCx10ITE TP4S is replaced

ITE TP4S was broken down last night . I stopped the ITE pumps and vented station with Argon this morning. Edi and I replaced the broken pump with a new pump. The ITE is under roughing now.

1020   Tuesday, July 28, 2015, 10:17 David WangITERepair  ITE TP4 has been replaced

Tony and I replaced the ITE TP4 turbo pump today. The pumping time on controller has been reset to 0. The replaced broken  pump is bagged and stored at west end of TH.

  2108   Friday, June 19, 2020, 11:21 David WangITERepairTM4P2N test.ITE TP3 is replaced.

ITE TP3 is replaced. ITE is under vacuum again. All turbo pumps are started successfully. Current draw on pumps are normal so far.

  549   Tuesday, November 19, 2013, 14:24 David WangITERepair  ITE TP3
Hi all, The old  ITE TP3 pump is moved out and the new pump is  in postion .Since this time I used a new holding ring(1 piece) insead of old 2 pieces holding ring which are thicker than new ring, the old holding  bolts are a little bit too long for the thread holes on the  ITE exit 1. I have to find the right length bolts for this new holding ring. The pump is in position, and all connection are done except the holding bolts. I will put the new bolts on and tight them when I connect the TM4 in ITE next time. So, If I am not here at that time and you need to connect TM4 and start the pumps in ITE, please check all the bolts are tighted before you do anything.
