Tuesday, June 30, 2015, 15:53, David Wang, Conditioning Station, Development, TM2, , leak on TM2 at CS
|
I leak checked TM2 at CS this afternoon which including air to vacuum check on service cap and helium pressure test on water lines. There is a small leak on water line R ,U (COIL1) during the helium pressure test.. Below 20 psi helium, there is no leak on it. But , once the helium pressure is increased over 20 psi, it showed up on Leak Detector. At 60 psi helium, the leak rate is 9.4xE-9 atm.cc/sec. For detail information, See attachment. All other water lines and air to vacuum seals are good. |

CS TP1S had been replaced with a new TP-301 pump this morning. The old pump was broken last week. |
Wednesday, July 08, 2015, 14:05, David Wang, South Hot-Cell, Repair, TM2, , leak check coil line(R,U) on TM2 at SHC
|
Chad and I leak checked coil line(R,U) on TM2 at SHC yesterday. The leak detector was pumped down to 0.0Xe-9 atm.cc/sec before the check. Chad sprayed helium on the soldering joints connecting the cooling copper lines to the small holding blocks for the coil terminal(R,U). After sprayed helium 2 seconds, I saw the leak rate on LD started to climbed up. The highest leak rate is 4.0xE-8 atm.cc/sec. It is a very positive response. We waited the leak detector pumped back to 0.0xE-9am.cc/sec, and tested again on the same joints. The result is same. Chad also sprayed helium on the R,U water blocks to check the C-seal. I saw a delayed tiny response on LD ( from 0.0 to 1.3xE-9atm.cc/sec). We think this tiny response is caused by the helium drifting to the leak soldering joint, but not a real C seal leak. |
Wednesday, July 08, 2015, 14:24, David Wang, South Hot-Cell, Repair, TM2, , TM2 pressure bubble test on RU water blocks.
|
July-06, 2015. Chad , Grant and I did the bubble test on R,U water blocks. We suspected the leak on the R,U circuit is from C seals on the water blocks so we did this test first. I applied both air and helium to R,U circuit , Chad applied snoop soap on the R,U water blocks. The air and helium pressure was increased from 40 psi to 90 psi Max step by step.Chad did not see any bubbles on the water blocks during the test. Since we did not find the leak source, we decided to do vacuum helium check on the all joints and c-seals of the R,U lines later. Finally, We found the leak by vacuum helium spray the day after this bubble test. See other e-log. |
Thursday, July 09, 2015, 14:02, David Wang, Conditioning Station, Development, TM1, , TM1 is pumping down at CS
|
TM1 and CS vacuum system are connected. All turbo-pumps are started. The new TP1S works fine also. The pumping down looks good so far. During the TM1 and CS roughing down time, Joe .M noticed a Rn-220 level surge up in TH . Then, the Rn220 level slowly dropped back. Anders suspected this Rn-220 surging is related to the TM1 roughing down at CS. We decided we will stop the pumps , vent the CS , and roughing again tomorrow. During the same time Joe will monitor Rn-220 level in TH to see if the surging is repeatable. We want to learn more on this TH Rn-220 issue. |
Wednesday, July 15, 2015, 11:18, David Wang, South Hot-Cell, Repair, TM2, , leak check coil line(R,U) on TM2 at SHC
|
Chad and I leak checked the coil 1 circuit(R,U) after rebuilt coil line is installed on TM2 source tray. The pumping down on the circuit is very quick and smooth. The LD base lake rate 0.0xE-9 atm.cc/sec. Base pressure0.0xE-4 torr.
Chad sprayed lots helium on the R( coil 1+)and U(coil 1 -) water blocks. During 1 minute waiting time, there is no any response on LD. The R and U water blocks and C-seals are leak tight. |

Tuesday, July 21, 2015, 12:29, David Wang, ITE, Maintenance, , , target pit Hepa filter
|
Target pit Hepa filter has been replaced today. There is 500 counts on swipe which is taken inside of the replaced filter. The field measurement on the filter wood box is less than 0.5 usv/hr on contact. Right now,The outlets of the old filter are sealed with thick plastic and duct tape. The whole filter is wrapped with plastic sheet and tape. It has been moved to SHC ante room. It will be moved out of there by Tony.N soon with RPG help. |

Monday, July 27, 2015, 15:34, David Wang, ITE, Standard Operation, TM4, , Leak check on TM4 HS water line with new UCX target. at SHC
|
Chad and I leak checked the HS line at SHC after UCX target installation. On first round helium spray, one of VCR fitting has a leak to E-6 atm.cc/sec range. Chad tightened the fitting, and solved the problem. We leak checked both VCR fittings twice. No leak. The line will be helium pressured at CS tomorrow. |
Monday, July 27, 2015, 15:46, David Wang, South Hot-Cell, Standard Operation, , , The yellow steel plug is put on SHC in TH
|
The yellow steel plug is put on SHC in TH. The spent target is inside the SHC.The field around the SHC area in TH is so high that we have put it on. It will be moved out on this Thursday just before the spent target move. |
Monday, July 27, 2015, 17:03, David Wang, Conditioning Station, Standard Operation, TM4, UCx 13, UCx13 and TM4 under vacuum at CS.
