Thursday, November 06, 2014, 08:55, David Wang, ITW, Repair, TM1, ThO#1, primary vacuum back up pressureITH CG1 ,CG2,CG4A were high.
|
I found primary vacuum back up pressure ITH CG1, CG2, and CG4A were unusually high this morning. They should be about 10 -20 mtorr after one night pumping, but all of thier reading were 340-350-mtorr. Thease cause the current draw on primary turbo pumps were all over 2.0A(should be about 1.0A). I let Paul closed all BVs on primary side . The pressure dropped quickly to normal range after all BVs were closed. This shows the back up line are good. The problem are from one of the connections on primary BVs. I let Paul opened the BVs one by one,but the problem did not show again. Now ,the current draw on the turbo pumps are back to normal also.
I will keep monitoring the system and take a look on all KF25 clamps on BVs once I have a chance to access to ITW. |

I replaced flow wheel and coil on ITW MSP water flow sensor which is located in ITW pit. Before replacement, I checked the signal strength and frequency form e-board on this circuit. The signal was good in 10minutes watching. Still, I replaced them. The flow sensor works fine after replacement. I made a comment on Isac e-fault system about this issue. |

Tuesday, November 25, 2014, 11:33, David Wang, South Hot-Cell, Development, , , Remove UCX 11 target transfer stand from SHC back to TH.
|
The stand was used for transferring UCX11 targte from TH to SHC. The stand wit target was craned down from TH into SHC last week and stayed there over weekend. Chad and I removed the stand out of SHC yesterday. It was heavily contaminated. RPG and I spent more than 3 hours to clean this stand. See the emails I pasted below for detail information.
Thanks, David, for letting me know about this. Here are survey results after my afternoon in Target Hall:
I spent 1.5 hours on additional decon of the stand, crane hook, and area around where David was doing the decon, finding up to 10k cpm (44-2) on some parts at first. Danka came to help after a bit (THANK YOU, DANKA) and we left the items covered in plastic and surveyed the area. Contamination survey results are as follows, numbers are units of cpm on the 44-2/RM14:
Tacky mats inside TMH door: 6000/2000
Tacky mats in hall before TMH door: 200/0
Tacky mats at boot box: 8000/4000
My booties: 50/0
Air sample at the decon area: 50/60 (also 100 cpm on alpha probe)
Floor swipes post-decon of floor: 0/0
Early results from a 10 min assay of the tacky mats shows predominantly Kr-85, Be-7, Sr-85, Rb-83, and Sr-82. A longer assay is underway.
The following measurements were made using the checking cave at the boot box (units of cpm):
David's respirator cartridges: 160
David's respirator: 0
Davids tank suit and booties: 1200
My suit: 100
My respirator: 0
The rags used for the decon work were contained in a bag and left behind the silos by the DST. This bag measured 240 uSv/h OC and 2 uSv/h at 0.5m
Thanks,
Andrew

Hi all, The UCx#11 target transferring stand is moved back from SHC to TH. However, the stand was heavily contaminated. On the first Windex clean up towel, the counts directly shoot over the 500K counts which is the maximum scales on both RM14 and 44-2. After almost 2 hours, more than 20 times cleaning up with Windex spray and paper towel wipe , the counts dropped below 300 now. It is extremely difficult to clean up this stand. I dont think we should move the target this way again unless we have a solution on the contamination clean up. The stand is still hanging on the crane, and waiting for RPG checking. Thanks David |

Tuesday, December 02, 2014, 13:33, David Wang, South Hot-Cell, Development, TM2, , Leak check on TM2 tube heater +(D) at SHC
|
Chad and I leak checked TM2 tube heater+(D) circuit at SHC with water bypass loop and new seals installed on the water block. The LD base LR 0.0xE-9 atm.cc/sec,base pressure0.0xE-4 torr. Chad sprayed helium on the leak check area in SHC for 5 seconds. No any response has been found on LD during 1minutes waiting time. The test was repeated again and the result is same. NO LEAK at this stage! After the TM2 is moved to CS , The D line will be pressured with 80 psi helium for helium pressure leak test before any hot water is circuited through it. |

Friday, December 05, 2014, 07:47, David Wang, Conditioning Station, Development, TM2, , TM2 at CS
|
The pumping down on TM2 at CS was good overnight. However, the back up line pressure is still too high for LD to get to 0.0-E-9atm.cc/sec . It only could get to 1.2xE-7 atm.cc/sec. It is not enough for a good leak check . I dont want to have any ambiguous situation on this" D" line leak check. So,I am going to reconfigure the leak detector to the spare KF25 pot on the TM2 service cap. All pumps are stopped . The CS and TM2 will be vented soon. After that, a manual valve will be installed on that spare KF25 pot for future helium pressure check at CS. Then, The TM2 and CS will be pumped down again. |

At CS, The leak detector is hooked directly to the TM2 top service cap. The base LR 0.0xE-9 atm.cc/sec, base pressure 0.0xE-4torr. Applied 80 psi helium to TM2 tube heater +(D) line . During 3 minutes applying time , I did not see any tiny change on LD readings. The line is perfectly vacuum sealed. See attachment pictures. |

Friday, February 06, 2015, 08:06, David Wang, Crane, Repair, , , TH crane lost movement controls since last Friday.
|
Last Friday, During the crane per use check, I found the main power supply to to crane was shut off. I was told Don and Travis shut off the main power before Triumf power outage. Travis restored crane main power and I could turn on the main relay on radio pedant in TH. But, I didnt have all crane main bridge movement controls on TH raido pedant except rotation. I still have all movement controls on small trolley from the radio pedant. When I operated radio pedant, Travis could hear the relay works in crane control room, but in TH no crane movements. It looks like a crane control problem so Dave Morris was contacted. Dave found one of battery on PLC board is dead and need to be replaced. He did order the battery right way. On this Wednesday, Dave noticed us we could temporarily run the crane. I went to T.H for checking. At the beginning, I found I cant not turn on the crane main relay from radio pedant in TH. Don was in crane control room. He switched the crane control from TH radio mode to control room pedant( big yellow control box laid on the ground, the mode switch is located on the up left corner of first main panel) and he turned on the main relay by doing this and got all movement controls from the big yellow pedant. After switching the mode back to TH radio mode I also got all the controls from TH radio pedant. Everything worked fine on crane so we moved the man lift into TH on Wednesday afternoon and arranged the TH crane inspection on Thursday. On Thursday morning, Gordon Crane guys came in TH and started their inspection. At the beginning, everything works fine. But after they did some operation and checks on crane, the crane main relay could not be switched on again (from TH raid box). The crane inspection job are suspended. RH group tried to active the main relay by switching the mode back to yellow pedant in crane control room just like we did on Wedsday, but it did not work this time. David Morris was contacted to check from his side if anything wrong. He checked and told us the program is working and everything is good from his side. A crane expert is needed to trouble shoot this problem. Neil Wong is going to bring Gordon crane guys and start to trouble shoot the problem this morning. |
