Today Chad entered the south hot cell on work permit 2013-08-29-3 to repair the leaking heat shield line. The heat shield line was removed from the module and the surfaces cleaned. New C seals and spring were inserted and the line re-attached. During this time Chad also installed the new vacuum gauge. Grant took video of this work and Keith some pictures. The video and pictures can be found on the M: drive (groups) in the RH folder. The total time taken was ~ 25 minutes. The line was then pumped on and the block was sprayed with helium. The pressure and leak rate started at 0.0 x 10^-4 Torr and 4.0 x 10^-8 atm*cc/Sec. When the helium tank was opened there was an immediate response with the leak rate climbing to 2.7 x 10^-7 atm*cc/Sec. It then stabilized at 2.0 x 10^-7 atm*cc/Sec and was sprayed with helium. Response time was ~2 seconds the leak rate climbed to ~2.3 x 10^-5 atm*cc/Sec the pressure also increased to ~3.0 x 10^-3. The leak detector cart was left attached for another 1.5 hours but still was not able to stabilize in the 10^-9atm*cc/Sec range.
|
Also of note is that Chad received a full days dose and that when the plastic was surveyed there were ~150 counts found on it.

Today Chad entered hot cell again and removed the HS module side and Junction Block Wiring Harness (module side). In addition to this he blanked off the module side HS line. It took Chad 16 minutes to perform these tasks and he received a dose of 0.20 mSv bringing his total to 0.84 over the last 2 days. After exiting the hot cell Chad completed a leak check on the module side. The line pumped down to the limits of the leak testing cart 0.0x10^-4 Torr and 0.0x10^-9 atm*cc/sec and there was no response. A video of Chad in the hot cell can be found in:
M:\remote handling\Photos\2013\2013_tm3_source_tray_refurb
This afternoon was spent surveying the anteroom and receiving teaching from Chad as to how to be a hot cell operator. There was little in the way of contamination ~150 counts near the HC door and ~50 counts on the surrounding floor. The wiring harness has a field of 900 uSv/hr but is suspected most of that is coming from the aluminum steerer bracket. |

The spent target assay were finally started or re-started today. Four targets were done today.
June 29 2016 another four targets were done today.
June 30 2016 all targets have assayed and measured. see the attached PDFs for the results. |

The spent target assay was aborted today after the first target was finished due to the very old computer that controls the camera and the vault door effectively died. The vault door had to be closed using the emergency door closing winch which worked so it passed that test. |

All targets in the ISAC Spent Target Vault have been either assayed and had field measurement done on them or just measurement if to hot to assay. |
Monday, December 03, 2012, 19:34, Grant Minor, ITE, Standard Operation, TM4, LpUCx, Argon supply opened for ITE vent
|
Around 7pm tonight I opened the main valve approximately 1.5 turns on the Argon bottle used for venting ITE, located in the ISAC electrical room. The cylinder pressure gauge increased to about 1500 psi. I adjusted the secondary regulator (pressure relief valve) until it read 2psi. I opened the needle valve in the vent line completely. The pressure on the pressure relief valve dropped slightly and I adjusted it again until it read 2psi. The Argon supply should be ready for venting ITE w/ TM4. The station should be vented around midnight to prepare for TM4 disconnect tomorrow morning. If there are problems with the venting process, an operator should check the pressure on the secondary regulator / pressure relief valve to ensure it is reading 2psi. - Grant Minor |

|
Chad and I did a leak check on TM1 Nb5 target heat shield circuit. The leak detector was connected to heat shield circuit. The pumping down of the circuit is very smooth.Base leak rate is 0.0xE-9atm.cc/sec,and the base pressure is 0.0xE-4 torr. Chad checked the helium flow downstairs .He sprayed helium to both up and down VCR joints 2seconds each time. There is no any response on leak detector(30 seconds waiting time). Both joints did the same test twice, no response . Finally, he flushed helium around the target for 10 seconds, and i didnt see any response on leak detector either. The heat shield circuit on TM1 Nb5 target is leak tight at this stage. |

TM1 has received the Ta#37-LP and has been pumping since thursday. This morning the pressure gauges read, IMG1: 1.6x10^-6 T and IG1: 7.4x10^-7 T.
The high voltage power supply has been connected to all high voltage feedthroughs and the voltage raise to 42 kV.
High voltage conditioning started around 20 kV and after few minutes we were able to go up to 40 kV.
The pressure increases on both locations, IG1 went up to 8.1x10^-7T and IMG1 went up to 1.8x10^-6T.
The module is good to go. |

|
Chad and Anders inspected the test target in the hot cell today. The lid had been previously removed.
- The EE looked to have performed well.
- A piece of Ta foil was found inside the heat shield. It is not clear if this has been there during operation or if it entered the heat shield while in the hot cell. The foil has markings which indicate that it has seen heat.
- Travis measured 40 MOhm at 500V between heat shield and anode after the target was removed.
