Broken tong cable on West manipulator (serial #8106) replaced.

Wrist joint with broken cable was replaced with the spare wrist joint, pre-strung with a new tong cable. Tong cable is routed the "new" way (as described in April 3, 2024 wrist replacement), over the interior spacer.

Both East and West manipulators now have wrists with cables routed in this fashion which, in theory should result in longer cable life.

Tong cable in East manipulator #7986 was visually checked and looks in good shape.

Handle cable on #7986 is still routed under the spacer in the wrist and should be replaced with a new cable routed above the spacer next time it needs service.

Plant Group Gabril.T organized a target pit CAD filter replacement and testing yesterday. My group helped on this job.  small 3T hoist was used for the job.Still the filter needs to be pushed manually on crane to south into position because of crane access limit on south.  The replacement job went well. Later, Gabril reported his test result is good as well.

TM#1 with Ta#37 has been moved from the conditioning station to the the west target station, move went well.

Entry  Wednesday, August 17, 2011, 13:09, Bevan Moss, ITW, Standard Operation, TM1, Ta #37, TM1 move from ITW to Hot Cell

TM1 with Ta #37 target was moved from ITW to the south hot cell. The rotation of TM1 may have been off slightly during the final removal from ITW but it was minimal. Entry into the south hot cell went with out incident. This was my first time moving the module without the presence of Travis Cave.

Entry  Thursday, September 01, 2011, 09:11, Don Jackson, ITW, Standard Operation, TM1, UCx#2, Argon Venting West Station

West target station is setup to use argon for tank venting.  There is 1200 PSI remaining on argon bottle in electrical room.  That is sufficent for venting west target station to atmosphere twice.  ISAC Operations has been previousily contacted and their procedures for venting remain the same except that they can not rely on ITW:CG4S to determine when at atmospheric pressure.  I have asked them to contact me if an unscheduled vent is required.

Entry  Wednesday, February 01, 2012, 09:54, David Wang, ITW, Maintenance, TM1, , ITW and TM1 winter shut down vacuum leak check

ITW and TM1 winter shut down vacuum leak check had been finished yesterday. All ITW primary vacuum vessel, secondary vacuum vessel, and TM1water lines had been leak checked. No any leak has been found .The ITW and TM1 are both leak tight. Some detail information below:

TM1 and ITW primary vacuum vessel and water lines:   The leak detector was hooked on BV2 after TP2.  Calibrate leak detector.leak detector BL 0.0xe-9atm.cc/sec,BP0.0xe-4 torr.

Sprayed helium to all primary vacuum vessel seals, flanges, turbo pumps, gauges, blank offs, bellows, and insulation blocks on TM1 and ITW. No any response had been found on leak detector. Also applied 60 psi helium to all water lines in TM1 for 5minutes each,no any response on leak detector. The leak rate stayed at 0.0xe-9 to 0.3 xe-9 atm.cc/sec all the time. All waterlines in TM1 are leak tight.

ITW secondary vacuum vessel:the leak detector was hooked on BV4s after TP4.Leak detector BL 0.0xe-9 atm.cc/sec ,BP 0.00xe-4 torr.  Sprayed helium to all secondary vacuum seals which include all bellows, tank to tank flange seals, tank flange to modules seals, beam diagnostics, gauges, turbo pumps, and EXIT 2 top service cap seals. No any response had been found on leak detector during the check. The secondary vacuum vessel is leak tight on ITW.

All high vacuum gauges were read at 2-3xe -7 torr range  during the test time and no change during the test.

TM#1 with Nb#6 from the conditioning station to the west target station, move was uneventful. Mike LaRoss was there today for move in place of Don Dale working the PLC.

Entry  Wednesday, May 02, 2012, 11:27, David Wang, ITW, Standard Operation, TM1, , ITW is ready for taking proton beam.

I moved 5 shielding blocks from ITE to ITW .  I checked  all ITW water signals strength and frequency in electrical room, and everything looks fine. The ventilation system is set up for ITW. MAA is locked. ITW is ready for taking proton beam.

Entry  Tuesday, June 05, 2012, 15:06, Bevan Moss, ITW, Standard Operation, TM1, Nb#6, Module move from ITW to SHC

TM1 has been moved from ITW to the SHC. The move did encounter some issues, one of the railings for preventing people from falling into the MAA was hit with the containment box. This caused the module to rotate. The module rotated ~90 degrees before the problem was noticed. The module was backed off from the post once noticed but had already freely rotated. The box was inspected with the cameras prior to being inserted into the SHC. No damage was detected. The error came as a result of over confidence. It did appear it was going to be hit but as the module moved closer I believed that there would be clearance. The angle of the camera has caused the module to appear it was going to hit thing before in the past but it actually (once the module was closer to the object) had several feet of clearance. This is not a mistake I will make again.

Chad Fisher, Grant Minor, and Don Jackson, have been alerted about this. Chad will complete another visual inspection in the hot cell. David will take swipes of the pole to ensure there is no contamination.

Entry  Wednesday, June 06, 2012, 08:21, David Wang, ITW, Standard Operation, TM1, , TM1 disconnected in ITW

I disconnected TM1 in ITW yesterday morning. The general radioactive level in ITW over the TM top (300mm) is about 350 usv/hr. contacting level on TP1 and TP2 are 1.0-1.2 msv/hr. I took 0.22 msv dose .The module is moved to

south hot cell later and a shielding plug is put back to ITW. Everything is fine.
