John Chow and I installed new TCS HV cable and feed through with their mounting panel back to TCS Faraday cage this Tuesday. ECO-4269 has been issued for the new cable feed through and mounting panel.

The target was inspected by Chad and Anders. Photos are available on DocuShare. It was noticed that the target tube heater terminals had lifted up from the insulator on the target assembly as seen in this Photo. This has later been detemined to be from the assembly, where additional clearance was required and achieved by installing washers.

NEW HV cable for BIAS installed earlier this week.

Wednesday, June 28, 2017, 16:42: BIAS at 20 kV

Wednesday, June 28, 2017, 16:46: BIAS at 30 kV, EZL at 15 kV

Wednesday, June 28, 2017, 17:00: BIAS at 35 kV, EZL at 17.5 kV

The voltage response on TBHT and TGHT changed as the target was heated up. This was later determined to be due to target shorting to heat shield and the grounding of the power supplies being achieved at the HV pedestal in the target hall and not in the HV enclosure as is done online. When this was changed, the target operated normally again.

The North Hot Cell module support flange (IRH1152D) was installed on June 21, 2017 using 1/8" rubber sheet as a sealing gasket.  The rubber was glued at the seams with Loctite 495 instant adhesive.  Cameras with all required wiring and connectors were installed on the mounting bars (IGN0325D) and then aligned to provide the same view as at other module installation locations in the target hall.  A cable with 5 video signals, and a camera power cable was routed from the south wall in the target hall (where video line connections are), to the panduit on the north wall.  An additional section of cable will be installed to link to the flange cameras after cable covers are installed on the floor.

Entry  Friday, June 23, 2017, 12:08, David Wang, Crane, Repair, , , TH crane inspection and probem fixing by Gordon crane

Gordon crane technician Peter came in today and checked TH crane. Maico and I were there with him. What he found is that brake gap on both side of main hoist decreased after months of using.  The solution is to lock the automatic self adjustment system so the gap will be fixed there. Each year during annual inspection, they will adjust the gap manually. After he locked both side of device, I tested the crane up and down couple of times. The brakes work fine.

The North Hot Cell inlet ducting assembly was installed today in the target hall at the north end of the NHC roof block.  A small section of the perforated aluminum sheet on the TCS cage had to be trimmed for the assembly to fit (see IMG_0214).  At each end of the assembly it was fastened to the roof structure using a 1/4"-20 tapped hole in the steel roof, and a 1/4"-20 anchor in the north wall of the target hall.  The base flange of the assembly was sealed to the roof structure and TH wall using Sikaflex 1A polyurethane sealant on all sides.

Yasmine and I connected TM2 in ITW today. the control page is set to febiad mode. Both gas line in ITW are opened for febiad run. All connections are double checked. Module connection checklist is finished.  All turbo pumps are started now. Everything is good so far. The TM2 is ready for conditioning when the ITW vacuum is good enough.

Entry  Friday, June 09, 2017, 11:21, chad fisher, North Hot-Cell, Maintenance, , , Model 'N' Slave Removal Through Roof

Isaac and Chad disengaged the slave end of the manipulator and performed a slave removal through the slave removal roof hatch. This is part of investigation into a 'Z' motion tape that is "rubbing" on its drum on the master side of the manipulator during manual 'Z' retraction of 'Z' extension.

This also was the first test of the concept of removing the manipulator slave through the manipulator hatch that was built into the roof.

The lifting bail on the slave end of the manipulator was not centered to the hatch as per design but this did not compromise the procedure at all and the procedure otherwise followed the design intent.
