|
ITW entrance module and exit 1 module leak check on module service cap/top air to vacuum seals and module to tank flange o-rings have been
done. all seals and o rings are leak free to 0.0 xE-9atm.cc/sec except one leak ( to low E-6 atm.cc/sec) on ITW RV4 KF50 o-ring was found. It caused by
a cross o ring surface scratch on KF 50 flange. the scratch was sanded and polished out. on second time leak check, it is leak free. |

|
Spent target UCx#43 (pail 289) was moved from the South Hot Cell to the Storage Vault, placed in location 2A. Dose rate at 1m was approximately 22.6
mSv/hr.

Monday, February 12, 2024, 18:44, Carla Babcock, ITW, Maintenance, , , ITW annual HV testing
|
ITW was set up for HV testing - water is running and at a high resistivity due to injected N. Einzel lens is attached to ground. Everything else is as
normal. The module plug is in so no vacuum bypasses were needed. Very easy to ramp to 60kV. Sat at 60 for about 1.5hrs with maybe 1 spark (hard to say
from the strip tool data). Current draw was about 176uA. Data dumped as isac/data/ITW_HVtesting_shutdown2024 |
Friday, February 09, 2024, 12:52, Adam Newsome, Spent Target Vault, Standard Operation, , , F-308 flask loading - five flasks loaded
|
Today (2024-02-09), five flasks were loaded in preparation for shipment with the following targets: SiC#41, SiC#42, Nb#9, UC#36, Ta#58.
Note: prior to shipping, the pails within these flasks will need to have a crimped lifting loop added to them.
The mini-storage vault is now EMPTY. |
Tuesday, February 06, 2024, 13:36, David Wang, ITW, Maintenance, , , ITW exit 1 module tank flange o ring has been replaced.
|
ITW exit 1 module tank flange o ring has been replaced. the old o r-ing was completely flat in slot without elastic property. tank flange, module
flange, and o ring slot were clean by acetone and canister vacuumed. Raised up module 3 feet and pulled new o-ring over module top so new o ring could
be installed without moving module out. after new o ring installation, craned down module to flange and raised up module 2 feet again to confirm |
Tuesday, February 06, 2024, 13:28, David Wang, ITW, Maintenance, , , ITW exit 1 module has been disconnected and reconnected for o ring replacement
|
ITW exit 1 module was disconnected for Exit module flange o -ring replacement yesterday. After oring replacement, the module has been reconnected.

Friday, February 02, 2024, 07:48, David Wang, ITE, Standard Operation, TM4, , ITE primary and secondary vacuum vessel leak check.
|
ITE primary and secondary vacuum vessel leak check has been done. SST bellow for 2A3M19 wire scanner on entrance module top has a big leak to E-5
atm.cc/sec on tiny helium spray. The bellow will be replaced in March by probe group. The LD base leak rate is affected by this big leak so i cant keep
the LD scale at 0.0Xe-9 atm.cc/sec during the leak check. Other seal are leak free to 8XE-9 atm.cc/sec. I have no big concern on ITE vacuum seals status |
Friday, January 26, 2024, 16:48, Carla Babcock, South Hot-Cell, Standard Operation, TM4, UC43, UCx#43 PIE
|
UCx#43 PIE was done in the SHC. As expected based on electrical measurements, the target container was broken on the right side and came off easily.
Despite all the black stuff seen on the containment box and source tray, the inside of the heat shield was very clean. Checked if the Re foil was curled
in and didn't see anything. Looked fine other than the broken container. |
Friday, January 26, 2024, 11:57, David Wang, Safe Module Parking, Standard Operation, TM4, , TM4 coil1, 2, and HS electrical check at SMP after module moving.
|
TM4 coil1, 2 and HS are all OL at 250V at SMP after module move. This week, Chad and Carl fixed short issue on coil1, 2 and HS by insert dropped ultem
ring back to position at SHC. |
Friday, January 26, 2024, 11:53, David Wang, Safe Module Parking, Standard Operation, TM4, , Tm4 has been moved to SMP.
|
TM4 has been moved to SMP. The move is smooth. I started SMP vacuum pump. The TM4 and SMP vessel is under vacuum now. |

|
Chad and I did window line VCRs leak check after containment box removal/installation. The first pair of VCRs have leak. Chad changed
VCRs. Both VCr fittings on window lines are completely leak free to 0.0 XE-9 atm.cc/sec now. |

|
Tom Kauss inspected target hall crane below hook attachment pins and plates ITA6550-01 yesterday. He certified the use of these pins and plates for
year 2024. The inspection of these pins and plates was in Target hall crane annual check list. It was issued as a calibration index by Isaac Earle
in 2022-Feb-08. After inspection, The inspection tag was issued and attached to pin. Tom has an inspection record on this job. |

TM4 has seen significant coating of the main standoff insulators and various other components stemming from failure in UCx#43 target. See attached pictures
showing coating on containment box, support frame, main standoff insulators, standoff insulators high voltage shield etc. Note tracking marks on main standoff
insulators. |

Monday, January 22, 2024, 10:16, David Wang, ITE, Standard Operation, TM4, UCx#, Tm4 waterlines helium pressure test and TM service cap helium leak check.
|
Tm4 waterlines helium pressure test and TM service cap helium leak check was done last Friday. All water lines were pressurized with 70psi helium for
3 minutes each. The 3 minutes stable leak rate on all lines are less than 4.0 X E-9atm.cc/sec. some of lines had surging leak rate to 2xE-8 atm.cc/sec
at the first 10 seconds of pressurization which should be a gas hammer result at the beginning. Based on the numbers, I would say all water lines are leak |

Monday, January 22, 2024, 09:50, David Wang, ITW, Standard Operation, , , ITW entrance module has been moved from SHC to ITW.
|
ITW entrance module has been moved from SHC to ITW. A slightly bump on module shielding block bottom side corner to tank vessel side when lowed module
into tank. No big concern on this slight bumping. Otherwise the move is perfect.
