Thursday, August 25, 2016, 08:36, David Wang, Conditioning Station, Standard Operation, TM2, , Helium pressure test on TM2 HS water lline
|
I did a helium pressure test on TM2 HS water line at TCS. Leak detector base leak rate only could get to 1.8x e-8 atm.cc/sec at this moment. Applied 5 minutes 70psi helium on it. No leak has been found at this level. I connected water to this circuit after the test for weekend TM2 conditioning at TCS.
I will do another helium pressure test after the conditioning. The LD base leak rate should be 0.0Xe-9 atm.cc/sec at that time.
2016-08-29: LD Base leak rate 0.0xe-9atm.cc/sec.TM2 HS line helium pressure check again after conditioning. 70psi helium 5minutes. no response on LD. HS line is perfectly sealed. |
Thursday, August 25, 2016, 08:43, David Wang, Conditioning Station, Standard Operation, TM2, , All TM2 connections to TCS are done.
|
The HV cover is installed. The Faraday cage at B2 level is locked also. The TCS and TM2 are still pumping down. Everything is good so far. |

Wednesday, September 07, 2016, 11:39, Isaac Earle, North Hot-Cell, Development, , , NHC North / South Wall Gap Measurements
|
Measurements were taken today of the NHC north/south wall gap at the location where the NHC/TCS partition wall will be installed (43.375" from the NHC west wall). A HILTI PD40 laser range meter was used for the measurements. They were taken at 10", 34", 62", 90", 118", and 142" from the floor which matches the top of each cross-beam. The results are below:
10" from floor: 102.44"
34" from floor: 102.40"
62" from floor: 102.48"
90" from floor: 102.63"
118" from floor: 102.28"
142" from floor: 102.24"
Based on these results a partition wall plate width of 102.00" will be used for the bottom two plates, and 102.25" for the upper three plates in order to keep the gap on each side approximately 1/8" |
Thursday, September 08, 2016, 16:28, David Wang, Conditioning Station, Repair, TM3, , TM3 blue insulators have been replaced.
|
All TM3 blue insulators except Gas,EL, and 60 KV common on top of the module have been replaced with new designed insulators. The new blue insulator for gas line need to be modified to fit for the bent on the gas line. EL, and 60KV common blue insulators were replaced during last time TM3 refurbishment so they are relative new, and not replaced this time. All seals related to the blue insulators are changed to new seals. The o- r-ing surfaces for o-ring 221 inside the new insulators are rougher than old parts. The module top need to be leak checked. |
Thursday, September 08, 2016, 16:30, David Wang, Conditioning Station, Repair, TM3, , TM3 vacuum system have been connected at TCS.
|
start of roughing now.
start of TCS and TM3 turbo-pumps. Everything is good so far. |
Monday, September 12, 2016, 09:25, David Wang, Conditioning Station, Repair, TM3, , TM3 leak checked at TCS
|
After blue insulators replacement, TM3 service cap are leak checked. LD base leak rate 0.0xe-9 atm.cc/sec. I sprayed lots helium on all blue insulator seals. No leak has been found. Double checked them again, and got same result. All other seals on top of TM3 also have been checked. They are leak free. OVEN, TUBE, MSP, COIL, and EE water lines are pressurized with 70 psi helium for 3minutes each. They are good also. |

Thursday, September 15, 2016, 11:05, Isaac Earle, North Hot-Cell, Development, , , NHC / SHC feedthrough panel removed
|
The sheet metal panel covering the NHC/SHC feedthrough port was removed today using a slide-hammer to pull out the concrete anchors (this oversized panel would have interfered with the NHC partition wall). 50cpm was found on the inside of the panel, 100cpm on the NHC side lip of the feedthrough, and 350cpm on the face of the shielding bricks in the feedthrough. Various dimensional measurements of the feedthrough were taken which will be added to the partition wall Solidworks model (IRH1609). The panel was bagged for disposal and a temporary 20"x20" panel was put over the feedthrough and secured with duct tape. A permanent panel with anchored supports that is compatible with the NHC partition wall will be designed and installed at a later date. A swipe of the NHC walls and floor picked up 30cpm after completion of the job. |
