Anders Mjos | | | | | | | In progress | 9-pin connector installation work in progress | in preparation for RFQ testing. By Sebastian and Anders
An insulated 9-pin D-sub connector was installed on the service cap in port Q (as labeled in ISK4523). The connector mating to the target assembly was placed in the upper slot on the source tray.

Sebastian Raeder | | | | | | | | 9 PIN connector | A Sub D 9 Pin connector on a HV insulator was installed on Port Q of the target box at the teststand. The insulator is leak tested and OK, vacuum is below 2E-7 T
The feed through is connected (1to1) to the upper 9 Pin connector of the target tray. Since the existing upper 9 Pin connector was damaged from a previous FEBIAD test, this connector was replaced. For wiring 4 twisted pair Capton insulated and shielded wires (identical to ITE and TM4) of about 50cm length are used.
View on top of the feedthrough and the connector on the source tray (male connectors)

1to1 connection for pins 1,2,4-9
Pin 3 is NOT CONNCTED
The pin pairs 1&2, 4&5, 6&7, 8&9 each use a line of twisted pairs

Connection to the HV added. The wires end in the HV cage on a screw terminal with labels 1--12. The numbers 1,2,4-9 are used in corresponding notation to the sketch above. Since 3 is not connected at all this terminal is used for grounding the wire shielding.
As cable 2 Capton isolated pairs of wire (1&2, 4&5) and two "normal" pairs for thermocouple (6&7, 8&9) reading are used. So all connections have shielded twisted pair cable, while (6&7, 8&9)change the cable type at the 9Pin connector |

Sebastian Raeder | | | | | | | | Anode powersupply connected to HV-common | The anode PS is turned off and connected to HV common.
the Target is connected to a -18V PS at the center support (Feed through A) for a on/off test of ion suppression
NOTE: there is a shortcut target <--> HV gnd, most propably due to the thermocouple touching something after pumping.
workaround to obtain suppression for today is to put in a differnt driver for the RFQ which can be biased to positive potential. |

Sebastian Raeder | | | | | | | Problems/Solutions | status after power outage | Wednesday, December 19, 2012, 16:24:
After long power outage, everything is off except the roughing pumps. Two turbo pumps (TMSTP2 and TSGTP1B) have shown fault due to timeout, only TSGTP1B could be reset, while TMSTP2 is still showing this fault
Vacuum in Magnet section is 0.004T according to TMSCG2. Since the target chamber was vented to remove the RFQ tests target, this section is actually pumped down using the roughing pumps (water lines are blanked off)
archivers started

I was now able to reset TMSTP2.
