Entry  Friday, February 28, 2020, 09:36, David Wang, ITE, Repair, , , Entrance module TP1S broken piesces clean up.

Using the camera,  Frank and I inspected the broken blades in vacuum duct bending section. We are pretty sure some of  the broken parts are fallen into  bottom of entrance module and vacuum vessel since the broken pars are over on the edge of bending section. The blades rotated at high speed. Basically, They were shoot to the duct opening when they were broken from the pump. Frank and I carefully swiped all broken parts  from the edges  back to center of duct first. Then, We use vacuum cleaner sucked all broken parts out of the entrance module. We can see lots aluminum dust  during the clean up. This kind of aluminum dust also could  fallen down to bottom of module and vessel.  After clean up, We inspected duct with camera. We can see all broken pieces and dust are cleaned out.  The removed broken pieces will be stored with broken pump when the vessel bottom clean up is done.

Entry  Wednesday, March 04, 2020, 11:52, David Wang, ITE, Standard Operation, , , ITE HV test without module

ITE bias test is done to 48KV. No spark. We can not raise bias above 48KV. It looks like we have a current limit issue on control system when testing above 48KV.  John Cow checked current limit on PS locally. It is set to 8mA which is much higher than the test current. Isac operator issued an e-fault to control group.

John Chow did a local test on PS. Everything works fine. The problem is on control system. We have a 48KV voltage limit problem on control system. We decide to end the test now. 48KV is good enough before this year mini-shut down.

Entry  Wednesday, March 04, 2020, 14:30, David Wang, Safe Module Parking, Standard Operation, TM2, , Remove of TM2 from SMP to SHC.

Frank and I removed TM2 from SMP to SHC. The move is successful.

Electrical check result is fine.  See attachment.

Entry  Friday, March 06, 2020, 09:35, David Wang, Spent Target Vault, Standard Operation, , SiC #39, Spent target SiC#39 removal from SHC to storage vault.

Spent target SiC#39 is removed from SHC to storage vault at 4C in pail #227.The move is successful.  Note:The small aluminum block holding wire on pail lid could be contaminated by SHC manipulator during the lid installation in SHC.

Entry  Friday, March 06, 2020, 09:51, David Wang, South Hot-Cell, Standard Operation, TM2, , TM2 was moved from SHC to SMP yesterday.

TM2 was moved from SHC to SMP yesterday.  The move is successful. TM2 is located at SMP. There is no hot target on module so SMP vacuum is not started.

Entry  Monday, March 09, 2020, 14:31, David Wang, ITE/ITW, Standard Operation, , , TH emergency exit test.

Frank and I did the test.  The emergency exit hatch on roof was opened and closed twice. Everything works fine.

Entry  Thursday, March 12, 2020, 13:42, David Wang, ITE/ITW, Development, , , New ITE IGLIS cables installation

New IGLIS cables installation is done. Two bundle of new cables are pulled from ITE to electrical room. They are in one PVC conduit. The old cables are not removed yet. I will pull old cables out when new cables are installed onto device in ITE Faraday cage.

Entry  Thursday, March 12, 2020, 13:48, David Wang, ITE, Repair, , , Entrance module TP1S broken piesces clean up.

The broken pieces in ITE entrance vacuum pit are vacuumed out.  At SHC, There are 4 pieces on module collimator block top,  wiring scanner top. Chad removed them out at SHC. Electrical check at module top is done by diagnostics group. Everything works fine.

See attachment. Everything looks good.

Entry  Tuesday, March 17, 2020, 14:59, David Wang, ITE, Development, TM4, P2N, ITE turbopumps are started.

They work fine. Current draw on all pumps are normal. I asked operator to switch on IG1 , IG1S and PNG4.

High  active water pump is started. The system resistance is recovering now. Everything works fine so far. Check ITW and ITE water leak after pump is started. Tiny very slow seep on two small ball valves pack seal. No big concern.

Entry  Wednesday, May 20, 2020, 13:19, David Wang, ITE, Maintenance, , , Restart of ITE turbo pumps.

PLC6 drop out in weekend caused the ITH MP1 and MP1s stopped. ITE turbo pumps were running still after that. Without back up pump, TPs started to trip off  later .  I found TP1,TP3, and TP4 were  tripped off this morning. And , The rest pumps ran with high current draw.  Jon Aoki restarted back up pumps and ITE turbo pumps. The ITE vacuum system works fine now.

Entry  Wednesday, May 20, 2020, 13:30, David Wang, Safe Module Parking, Maintenance, , , Silo area radio active waste clean up.

Sorted and packed one 55 gallon drum with low contamination and active stuffs which are placed around silo area in the past. They include old poly water cooling lines replaced from ITE, ITW and TCS, contaminated paper  rags , gloves, and plastic bags, air cooling fans for turbo pumps, EE resistor packaged used on module top before, flow meters and cables used in ITW, etc. After packing, The field outside the drum on contact is less than 10 usv/hr.

A water leak was found on a fitting connecting ITW dump return line pressure gauge on top of exit module. TM tank flange, o-ring slot and o-ring were contaminated by water and water rust. Frank and I cleaned the flange and o-ring slot . We changed a new TM tank o-ring, vacuumed around other 3 module flanges. The leak fittings with pressure gauges were removed . I put a blind cap on removed fitting spot.. Water are switched back to ITW. No leak on blind cap.

Edi calibrated ITH:CM6, CM6S and ITM:CM3. By the same time,  ITH:MP1 and MP2  lubricate oil level are checked. Everything looks fine. No oil  leak on both pumps.

Entry  Thursday, June 04, 2020, 10:40, David Wang, Conditioning Station, Maintenance, , , Three manual valves are closed on TCS water system  TCS_return_line_closed_valves_001.JPGTCS_return_line_closed_valves_002.JPG

Three manual valves are closed on TCS water system return line in experimental hall. See attachments. It is for TCS TK2 water level slow drop trouble shooting.  These valves will be opened again right after troubleshooting.

TCS TK2 water level no change(11.1 inches) in this week after valves are closed. I will keep these three valves closed for one more week.

I opened these valves. In two week times, The TK2 level dropped 0.1 inches. The water level change could be a result of evaporation of water in system. We will keep watching on it.
