Entry  Tuesday, May 10, 2016, 14:27, Travis Cave, South Hot-Cell, Standard Operation, TM2, Ta#48, Electrical Check TM2_elec_chk_Ta48_SHC.PDF

Electrical check of TM#2 with Ta#48 attached. See the attached PDF for details.

Entry  Tuesday, May 10, 2016, 13:54, David Wang, South Hot-Cell, Standard Operation, TM2, , SHC, TM2 leak check on window line and HS line.

Chad and I leak checked the TM2 HS and window lines after new target installation.  The window line was very easy pumped down on LD. But, The HS line only could pumped to 2-3 torr at first. Chad changed the VCR gaskets on HS line(target). It solved the problem. The LD could pumped  both of Window and HS lines to the bottom scale. Chad sprayed lots helium around the VCR joints.  No leak has been found. WE will do helium pressurizing test on them at TCS.

Entry  Tuesday, May 10, 2016, 13:37, chad fisher, South Hot-Cell, Standard Operation, TM2, Ta#48, Ta#48 Installation

Ta#48 has been installed onto TM2. Also new window gaskets were installed.

High current fasteners were torqued to 130 in lbs. Shutter side of the containment box recieved new fasteners.

Entry  Monday, May 09, 2016, 10:13, Travis Cave, South Hot-Cell, Standard Operation, TM2, no target, module moved

TM#3 was moved from the conditioning station to the NE Silo. TM#2 was moved from the SW Silo to the South hot cell.

Entry  Monday, May 09, 2016, 08:43, David Wang, Conditioning Station, Repair, TM3, , I reinstalled all the side panel on TM3 service cap.

They were moved for TM3 inspection job last week. All the bolts on the panel are hand tight only now since they will be removed out for camera installation during next stage inspection.

Entry  Wednesday, May 04, 2016, 11:14, Isaac Earle, North Hot-Cell, Development, , , North Hot Cell Scope Decision

A meeting was held on May 4, 2016 to determine the scope of the North Hot Cell project.  The following was agreed upon by those in attendance:

The NHC will be a designated target change hot cell.  It will be capable of performing all routine target operations (target removal/installation, leak check, electrical check, video inspection, post irradiation examination, target waste packaging and removal) using the same method currently used in the south hot cell.  Provisions will be included for the ability to perform target waste separation in the future unless a significant obstacle is encountered in which case the meeting attendees will be consulted.  Target waste separation involves separating the internal target heater from the target heat shield, then combining multiple target heaters in a single F-308 shipment.  Neither an inert gas atmosphere nor a double-door waste transfer system will be part of the NHC scope.

The following people were in attendance:  Bob Laxdal, Anders Mjos, Don Jackson, Joe Mildenberger, Friedhelm Ames, Alex Gottberg, Grant Minor, Yasmine Saboui, Peter Kunz

The following people were invited, but were unable to attend:  Chad Fisher, Pierre Bricault

The project will begin immediately, with Isaac Earle as the project leader.  The first steps will be to submit a Project Initiation Sheet, then to write and release the Requirements Specification document.

Entry  Monday, May 02, 2016, 11:33, Travis Cave, Conditioning Station, Standard Operation, TM2, no target, module moved

TM#2 was moved to the SW Silo from the Conditioning Station. TM#3 was from from the NW Silo to the Conditioning Station.

Entry  Friday, April 29, 2016, 10:06, David Wang, Conditioning Station, Standard Operation, TM2, , I switched off TCS and TM2 vacuum pumps.

I switched off TCS and TM2 vacuum pumps. The TM2 will be disconnected at TCS today and moved to silo on next Monday.

Entry  Friday, April 29, 2016, 08:01, David Wang, Conditioning Station, Maintenance, TM2, , TM2 leak check at TCS, helium pressure test

Anders and I finished the most part of TM2 water lines helium pressure test yesterday.I list the system parameters and test result as below:

TCS  IG1: 9.8XE-8 torr,  TCS IG2: 9.6Xe-7 torr, TCS IG1S: 3.5XE-9 torr, TCS CG1A: 10 m torr

Helium pressure: 70 psi. Test time: 5 minutes for each individual circuit.  1 hour for all  lines together test.

Leak detector base leak rate:0.0 X E -9 atm.cc/sec, base pressure 0.0X E-4 torr. LD was always restored or closely restored to the bottom  scale after each individual test.

Circuit Result (atm.cc/sec)
EE 0.0X E-9
Target Oven + 0.0X E-9
Coil 1   P-Q 0.0X E-9
Target Oven - 1.0X E-9
Tube Heater- 4.1X E-9
Tube heater+ 1.6X E-8
Coil 2    R-U 6.6X E-9
MSP 1.4X E-7
All above together (1 hour) 2.3X E-7
HS Open circuit . No test
Window Open circuit.  No test.
GE  7.2X E-7

The HS and Window lines will be tested later with new target installed and  window line gaskets restored.

Entry  Thursday, April 28, 2016, 06:28, David Wang, Conditioning Station, Maintenance, TM2, , TCS water system are turned off.

TCS water system worked fine overnight. I turned off TCS water system at 6:16 AM this morning. Start of purging TM2 water lines for helium pressure test again this morning.

2016-4-28 7:58AM. Disconnected TM2 water lines at TCS. Purged them with compression air each for 5 minutes.

Entry  Tuesday, April 26, 2016, 10:47, David Wang, Conditioning Station, Repair, TM2, , TM2 leak check at TCS, water test.

The following water circuits in TM2 are connected at TCS and running with water now : target oven+ - ( one circuit), tube heater+ -( one circuit), coil1 and 2(one circuit), MSP, and EE. The HS and window are open circuits now so they can not be supplied with water.  During the check before we knew HS and window circuit were close to perfectly sealed. So, The test result should not be affected without them

The TCS water pumps are started at 8:28 AM. All TCS high vacuum gauge readings are getting slight better after that.

Entry  Monday, April 18, 2016, 09:07, David Wang, Conditioning Station, Repair, TM2, , venting TCS with argon.

Anders reported a possible air leak on TM2 and TCS by watching RGA  this morning. I found the quick connector on F terminal on the top of the module is leaking air. It is only used as "X" terminal for Febiad without  water. So, it should be blind capped instead of installing a quick connector. It was installed with a  blind cap before. I borrowed it for leak check on coil lines at SHC, but forgot to put it back right away. Instead, I put a quick connector on it later. This caused the problem. Anyway The TCS need to be vented , and a blind cap  will be installed on the F terminal.

2014-04-18, 9:24AM, I changed the quick connector with a blind cap on F terminal. the rough pump is started now.
