Entry  Thursday, November 06, 2014, 08:07, David Wang, ITW, Standard Operation, TM1, ThO#1, TM1 has been connected in ITW.

TM1 has been connected in ITW. All turbo pumps are started. The pumping down on ITW is good so far. The water is supplied to TM1 for HV conditioning.

Entry  Thursday, November 06, 2014, 08:55, David Wang, ITW, Repair, TM1, ThO#1, primary vacuum back up pressureITH CG1 ,CG2,CG4A were high.

I found primary vacuum back up pressure ITH CG1, CG2, and CG4A were unusually high this morning. They should be about 10 -20 mtorr after one night pumping, but all of thier reading were 340-350-mtorr. Thease cause the current draw on primary turbo pumps were all over 2.0A(should be about 1.0A). I let Paul closed all BVs on primary side . The pressure dropped quickly to normal range after all BVs were closed. This shows the back up line are good. The problem are from   one of  the connections  on primary BVs. I let Paul opened the BVs one by one,but the problem did not show again. Now ,the current draw on the turbo pumps are back to normal also.

I will keep monitoring the system and take a look on all KF25 clamps on BVs once I have a chance to access to ITW.

Dan and I transferred 5 shielding blocks from ITE to ITW. The ITW is configured to take proton beam.

Entry  Thursday, November 13, 2014, 14:01, David Wang, ITW, Repair, TM1, , I replaced flow wheel and coil on ITW MSP water flow sensor.

I replaced flow wheel and coil on ITW MSP water flow sensor which is located in ITW pit. Before replacement, I checked the signal strength and frequency form e-board on this circuit. The signal was good in 10minutes watching. Still, I replaced them. The flow sensor works fine after replacement. I made a comment  on Isac e-fault system about this issue.

Entry  Tuesday, February 17, 2015, 13:07, Anders Mjos, ITW, Development, , , Resistance measured of TGHT and TBHT lines to ITW

See e-log entry for ITE for details. The copper bars have not been removed. They can be used for testing the new power supplies.

Local measurement was done by Ray with a voltmeter. The voltmeter was consistent with EPICS readback and local readback on the power supplies. A voltage drop of 0.137 V @ 580 A was measured across the bus bar from the TGHT power supply to the cooled transmission lines.

Entry  Tuesday, April 21, 2015, 13:01, Grant Minor, ITW, Development, TM2, , TM2 MK4 Optics Tray - banana plug bore modification (on bench) ita6092_redlines_gminor_21apr2015.pdfTM2_Optics_Tray_Bore_Mod_21Apr2015_1.JPGTM2_Optics_Tray_Bore_Mod_21Apr2015_2.JPGTM2_Optics_Tray_Bore_Mod_21Apr2015_3.JPG

The MK4 optics tray prepared for TM2 (as per ITA6082) had an undersized bore for the banana plug, making insertion of the plug extremely difficult / impossible.

Reference stores parts were collected to check the fit:  male plug 3-4/01152 and female jack 1-6/1201.  The size of the female jack was checked with a #21 drill at .159".

The bore on the optics tray was drilled out dry using the #21 drill to the same depth as the original blind hole, by Maico and Dan McDonald.  Chips were carefully collected in a rag, and the hole was blown out with compressed air.

The fit was checked to be snug but possible, using the male plug and the Remote Handling ultem base (ref ITA6023).

Redlines and photos are attached.

Dan and I replaced ITW target pit o-ring seal(.275DIA X42"ID). It is an annual job before first beam to ITW. The old o-ring was moved and the groove was vacuum cleaned. The new o-ring has been installed properly.

Entry  Tuesday, April 28, 2015, 11:09, Anders Mjos, ITW, Maintenance, , , Resistance measured of TGHT and TBHT lines to ITW Resistance_from_Electrical_Room_to_Target_Station.xlsx

The new TBHT and TGHT power supplies were brough up to high current; 350 A and 420 A respectively. The TGHT power supply was limited by PLC to 420 A. The resistance calculated for both the TBHT and TGHT copper lines from the electrical services room to the ITW pit was 1.35 mOhm. See attached spreadsheet for details.

Dave Morris has been contacted to correct the current limit for the TGHT supply to 600 A.
