139   Wednesday, July 04, 2012, 13:18 David WangConditioning StationStandard OperationTM4uo#3leak check on heat shield circuit

Chad and I leak checked the heat shield circuit after uc#3target installed. It took 5minutes to pump down the circuit to the leak detector bottom scales.   All the vacuum lines and connections are leak checked by spraying helium. Chad sprayed helium to each vcr fittings for 2 seconds. There is no any response on leak detector . The test repeated one time and the result is same. The heat shield circuit is leak tight at this stage . We will move TM4 to conditioning station and pressure helium test the circuit.

Connected leak detector to TM4 and CS vacuum system. The vacuum readings on TM4 and CS:PNG4 3.6 xE-6 Torr, IG1 2.3xE-6torr, IG4(diagnostic box) 3.9xE-6 Torr. Leak detector base pressure:6.0xE-3 torr, base leak rate: 1.0xE-9 atm.cc/sec. Applied 80 psi helium to heat shield circuit for 5 mins . There is no response on leak detector. The heat shield circuit is leak tight.

145   Monday, July 09, 2012, 16:08 David WangITEStandard OperationTM4UO#3ITM4 in ITE connected and pumping down

TM4 has been moved to ITE and connected there today. I started six turbo pumps this afternoon. One of TP4 back valve (one in pairs) didn’t open .It caused the TP4 difficult to start. I disconnected that control cable that plug to solenoid valve and reconnected it. Then it works fine. After this, TP4 started to normal speed easily. The vacuum readings are OK so far. Tomorrow morning they all should be around 6-7 X E-6 torr range. Water interlock checks related to TM4 have been finished. NO water supply to ITE dump and entrance to keep the system pressure over 90psi. All TM4 water signals are good and strong by watching them from electrical panel. Gas line connected and valves opened. Control page set to fibiad .

150   Thursday, July 26, 2012, 08:33 David WangITEStandard OperationTM4 I moved 5 shielding blocks from ITW to ITE thisTuesday morning .

All water interlock checks for ITE had been done. The ITE water signals strength and frequency(Espcially on MSP circuit) had been checked from electrical room, and everything is good.

Chad and i did a leak check on TM1heat shield with UCx target on.The circuit are pumped  down to the bottom leak rate and base pressure is 3xE-3 torr on the leak detector. There are two VCR caps on heat shield circuit. Chad sprayed helium on both of them   ( tested individually,2 seconds every time ) . The test repeated 1 time. There is no response on leak detector during 45 seconds waiting time on both time.Chad flushed helium around the target for 15 second. During 1 minutes waiting time , there is no response on leak detector. The heat shield circuit is leak tight at this stage. It will be helium pressure  in CS later.

Connected leak detector to TM1 and CS vacuum system. The vacuum readings on TM1 and CS:PNG4 3.6 xE-6 Torr, IG1 1.1xE-6torr, IG4(diagnostic box) 3.4xE-6 Torr. Leak detector base pressure:0.0xE-4 torr, base leak rate: 0.0xE-9 atm.cc/sec. Applied 80 psi helium to heat shield circuit for 4 mins . There is no response on leak detector. The heat shield circuit is leak tight.

159   Tuesday, August 07, 2012, 14:06 David WangITWRepair  ITW TP4S has been replaced

I replaced ITW TP4S today as we scheduled. The working area is swiped and air sampled .Everything is fine.

The Series # of the old pump is 200927, and the new one is 600080. The E-fault 6081 which is related to the job will be closed.

Prob guys replaced broken air lines on ITW HARP 5B Cylinder.Several shielding blocks had been moved out to make the cylinder accessible. After the replacement, the HARP5B works fine. All shield blocks had been moved back to original position. The job is done.

  165   Thursday, August 30, 2012, 13:57 David WangITEStandard OperationTM4 Disconnected TM4 in ITE.

I disconnected TM 4 in ITE on AUG 29th morning. The vacuum lines stay untouched and they will be disconnected on SEP 04th.

  168   Tuesday, September 04, 2012, 14:34 David WangSouth Hot-CellStandard OperationTM4NiO #1TM4 heat shield circuit leak check with NiO#1 target

Chad and i did a leak check on TM4 heat shield circuit with new NiO#1 target installed. It took about 40 mins(much longer than usual) to pump down the circuit to leak rate 0.6x E-9atm.cc/sec and 0.0x E-4 torr o leak detector.

All vacuum lines and joints which connected to the leak detector had been helium sprayed and they are leak  tight.Chad sprayed helium on each VCR joints for 2 seconds every time. During 1min waiting time, there is no any response on leak detector. Chad repeated same test again for double checking and we got same result. Chad finally flushed the helium around the target heat shield for 10 seconds.we waited for 1minute and found no response on the leak detector. The heat shield circuit is leak tight at this stage. I will do a helium pressure test on this circuit when TM4 is in CS and under vacuum.

I removed 5 shielding blocks from ITW to block storage area, and disconnected TM1 in ITW. After UCx run,  the radioactive level around the turbo pumps and primary vacuum lines are pretty high. This affect the general field inside the ITW pit around working area.i took 15 minuts to finish the job and i got 0.1msvr dose. the general field around my working area is about 350 usv/h.
