|
Chad and i did a leak check on TM1heat shield with UCx target on.The circuit are pumped down to the bottom leak rate and base pressure is 3xE-3 torr on the leak detector. There are two VCR caps on heat shield circuit. Chad sprayed helium on both of them ( tested individually,2 seconds every time ) . The test repeated 1 time. There is no response on leak detector during 45 seconds waiting time on both time.Chad flushed helium around the target for 15 second. During 1 minutes waiting time , there is no response on leak detector. The heat shield circuit is leak tight at this stage. It will be helium pressure in CS later. |

Entered south hot cell Wednesday and replaced the pre-filter air filter as well as the front two light bulbs. Also removed two bags of compressible garbage, one bag of metal, and of course the bagged air filter (as Joe M. expressed as interest in havung it).
Inital checks found approximately 4000 cpm on the cell side of the temporary Al. panel used during the cell entry, 2000 cpm on the tacky mats layed out beside the work area but nothing on the floor under the plastic that had been layed down for the job.

Tuesday, September 04, 2012, 14:34, David Wang, South Hot-Cell, Standard Operation, TM4, NiO #1, TM4 heat shield circuit leak check with NiO#1 target
|
Chad and i did a leak check on TM4 heat shield circuit with new NiO#1 target installed. It took about 40 mins(much longer than usual) to pump down the circuit to leak rate 0.6x E-9atm.cc/sec and 0.0x E-4 torr o leak detector.
All vacuum lines and joints which connected to the leak detector had been helium sprayed and they are leak tight.Chad sprayed helium on each VCR joints for 2 seconds every time. During 1min waiting time, there is no any response on leak detector. Chad repeated same test again for double checking and we got same result. Chad finally flushed the helium around the target heat shield for 10 seconds.we waited for 1minute and found no response on the leak detector. The heat shield circuit is leak tight at this stage. I will do a helium pressure test on this circuit when TM4 is in CS and under vacuum. |

|
TM#1 with Nb#7 attached was electrically checked at the south hot cell yesterday, see attached pdf for details. Some notes about this test the oven to the 60kV common is 2Mohm this was noticed on the target prior to installation on the module, and the 60kV common to chassis is low at 874Mohm (low as in a non infinite value). |
Tuesday, October 09, 2012, 13:44, chad fisher, South Hot-Cell, Standard Operation, TM4, UCx#5, NiO#1 removal UCx#5 installation
|
NiO#1 was removed this morning.
UCx#5 was inserted into the hot cell around 1 pm, installed and leak checked and ready to go to the conditioning station 1:40pm
did have a little trouble with the 9 pin connector. It had to be lossened to get it to mate properly. It was le-tightened once the proper fit was achieved. |

|
The target was inspected today.
It was found that the target tube had broken on both sides of the centre block in the region that contain target material. The Ta-foil heat shield was removed from the let side tube to allow inspection.
