David Wang | ITE | Standard Operation | TM4 | | I moved 5 shielding blocks from ITW to ITE thisTuesday morning . |
All water interlock checks for ITE had been done. The ITE water signals strength and frequency(Espcially on MSP circuit) had been checked from electrical room, and everything is good. |

Grant Minor | South Hot-Cell | Development | | | South Hot Cell Ventilation Alarm Trip |
Today (Wednesday July 18th) at around 4:15 pm I was taking a small tour group from VECC into the Target Hall. In the process of discussing the mechanical design of the Target Modules and South Hot Cell turntable I inadvertently lifted the Aluminum Hatch Cover of the Hot Cell about 2 inches in an effort to explain something. This tripped the ventilation alarm before I realized what I was doing. I evacuated the visitors from the Target Hall, checked booties and gloves at the check station before having the visitors step over the boot box. I called operations and let them know what I had done. The Target Hall was locked out and is awaiting a survey for the morning of July 19th before work can proceed. |

In the AM today David and I used the crane to raise the ground plate sheet metal into place. This afternoon when I attempted to return the crane to its usual place I discovered that the crane no longer worked. Upon further inspection it appears that the PLC has lost power. I will follow up on this Monday morning. The crane is not supporting any load at this point.

Turns out I am just not very observant. David had turned the main break to the crane off as a result when he turned it back on this morning the crane magically started working again. |

David Wang | ITE | Standard Operation | TM4 | UO#3 | ITM4 in ITE connected and pumping down |
TM4 has been moved to ITE and connected there today. I started six turbo pumps this afternoon. One of TP4 back valve (one in pairs) didn’t open .It caused the TP4 difficult to start. I disconnected that control cable that plug to solenoid valve and reconnected it. Then it works fine. After this, TP4 started to normal speed easily. The vacuum readings are OK so far. Tomorrow morning they all should be around 6-7 X E-6 torr range. Water interlock checks related to TM4 have been finished. NO water supply to ITE dump and entrance to keep the system pressure over 90psi. All TM4 water signals are good and strong by watching them from electrical panel. Gas line connected and valves opened. Control page set to fibiad . |

David Wang | Conditioning Station | Standard Operation | TM4 | UO#3 | TM4 UO#3 target heat shield helium pressure check is done. |
Connected leak detector to TM4 and CS vacuum system. The vacuum readings on TM4 and CS:PNG4 3.6 xE-6 Torr, IG1 2.3xE-6torr, IG4(diagnostic box) 3.9xE-6 Torr. Leak detector base pressure:6.0xE-3 torr, base leak rate: 1.0xE-9 atm.cc/sec. Applied 80 psi helium to heat shield circuit for 5 mins . There is no response on leak detector. The heat shield circuit is leak tight. |

David Wang | Conditioning Station | Standard Operation | TM4 | uo#3 | leak check on heat shield circuit |
Chad and I leak checked the heat shield circuit after uc#3target installed. It took 5minutes to pump down the circuit to the leak detector bottom scales. All the vacuum lines and connections are leak checked by spraying helium. Chad sprayed helium to each vcr fittings for 2 seconds. There is no any response on leak detector . The test repeated one time and the result is same. The heat shield circuit is leak tight at this stage . We will move TM4 to conditioning station and pressure helium test the circuit.

Electrical check of TM#4 with UO#3 attached at the south hot cell see attached PDF for full results. It has been noted that the Anode to 60kV common is of a low value after consulting with Friedhelm Ames it was determined will will run with what we have. |

David Wang | South Hot-Cell | Repair | TM3 | | TM3 heat shield and window circuits leak check is done. |
Chad and i did a leak check on TM3 heat shield and window circuits. Both circuits are pumped easily down to the bottom leak rate and base pressure on the leak detector. There are two VCR caps on heat shield circuit. Chad sprayed helium on both of them ( tested individually,2 seconds every time ) . There is no response on leakdetecor during 45 seconds waiting time. On window circuit there are 2 VCR joints. Chad sprayed helim on these joints(2seconds for each), and no response on leak detector. All joints are double checked(sprayed twice on each of them). The result is they are leak tight. |

chad fisher | South Hot-Cell | Repair | TM3 | N/A | TM3 Refurb. Work |
On Friday, June 22 the following work was carried out.
- Further inspection of the source tray.
- Testing of existing tray removal and installation tool...it works fine, there was just a specific method for proper coupling to the target module. There was no documentation for this tool, so it took a little bit of insight with the drawings and a little trial and error. A document should be written for this tool so its proper use is documented...I will do this.
- Blank-offs installed on heat shield water lines.
- New gaskets installed on window water lines.
- Containment box re-installed.

chad fisher | South Hot-Cell | Repair | TM3 | N/A | TM3 Refurbishment Start |
Started refurb of TM3.
Planned activities:
Inspection
Water line blank off
Started 1:00pm
- Video inspection before containment box removed - noticed discoloration on top right (if looking from h/c window) 4" insulator
- Containment box cover removed
- Containment box removed
As I am much older, wiser and handsomer then last time I removed this style of box, I realised there was a better, safer procedure for the removal...I will be updating the doc. accordingly.
End 2:25 pm
