Helium pressure 70 psi. 3 minutes on each circle untill LR on LD is balanced. Base leak rate on LD:0.0xE-9 atm.cc/sec. The result:
A: slowly to1.8Xe-8atm.cc/sec after 2 minutes and balanced there.
B: slowly to 2.0XE-8 atm.cc/sec after 2 minutes and balanced there.
C: quickly response to 3.1XE-8 atm.cc/sec and balance there.
D : slowly to 3.0X E-9 atm.cc/sec and balanced there.
All others including coil1, coil 2 ,MSP, EE, HS, window are perfectly leak tight. No response on LD.
The leak rate on A,B,C,D are in low E-8 or E-9 atm.cc/sec range. They should seal cooling water without leak. No concern.

Two shielding blocks above vacuum station at TH west end were opened for inspection. Checked ITH:MP1, MP2 lubricant color and level through sight gauge on pumps. They are still ok. Restored the shielding blocks. Checked ITM:MP1 by decay tank (Mirror checked sight gauge by north wall). Added lubricant to ITM:MP1 to middle level on sight gauge. |

Thursday, February 10, 2022, 12:24, David Wang, ITW, Standard Operation, , , ITW HV test without mdoule.
|
Carla did the test. and reported the result as following: HV testing of ITW is complete. It was pretty well behaved up to 59.5kV, and sat at 59kV for 30mins with no sparks (that EPICS caught). There was some strange behaviour of the current between 51kV and 53kV - it was jumping by 20uA or more - but there didn't seem to be any voltage response, and it went away after 53kV (though it returned on the way back down). The test was done in Feb 02. |
Thursday, February 10, 2022, 12:42, David Wang, ITE, Standard Operation, , , ITE HV test woithout mdoule was done.
|
Carla did the test. That is what she wrote in Feb 04th: "I am done with the HV testing at ITE - the results were the same as at ITW. It stayed at 59kV for 30 mins with no issues. Trying to go above 59.5kV is probably possible but a bit more risky. ITE also has a band, from 54-56kV, where the current jumps around like crazy". |

Friday, February 25, 2022, 10:22, Adam Newsome, South Hot-Cell, Development, , , Addition of E-Stops and Turntable Vertical Motion Limit Switch
|
Two changes have been made to the control system to the South Hot Cell:
- Addition of two emergency stop buttons: one located in the Target Hall on the wall adjacent to the hot cell, and one located on the control panel adjacent the operator station.
- Addition of limit switches to the turntable's vertical drive system to prevent over-travel at both the upper and lower limits.
The emergency stops will both stop all turntable motion: vertical and rotational.
An update to operating procedures: in order for the vertical motion system to function, the limit switch cable must be plugged in. When plugging in the vertical drive motor to the wall outlet as per normal operating procedure, it is now required to also connect the limit switch (which is mounted near the motor on the driveshaft) to the cable coming from the appropriately labelled junction box on the South wall (M12 connector).
These changes are based on electrical drawings IRH2083 - IRH2085 and mechanical assembly drawing ITA6739. The changes have been commissioned according to commissioning plan Document-218490. The commissioning report will be uploaded to DocuShare. The work permit for this upgrade was I2022-02-15--3.

Monday, April 04, 2022, 10:44, Nadia Jorgenson, South Hot-Cell, Repair, , , Turntable Chain Repair
|
Last week we repaired the South Hot Cell turntable chain/sprocket. Chain was loose and there was a few section where the chain was not lining up properly with the sprockets.
3 issues were discovered:
- One of the pins was bent. It’s been replaced but is a temporary fix. Need to replace them with stronger pins.
- The smaller sprockets near the motor were too far from the main turntable sprocket which was causing the links to not immediately line up with the teeth on the turntable sprocket. With too much slack in the chain, it’s likely that this is were the misalignment was starting. This was fixed by adjusting the motor position and the position of the yellow plate bolted to the floor.
- The yellow plate that is bolted into the floor has oversized holes relative to the bolts/washers used. This allows us to adjust the position, but the washers are to thin and are being bent/pulled into the holes. Should be replaced with thicker washers that can withstand the tension and this will help prevent the plate from sliding out of position. |
