The containment box has been re-installed and the window waterlines reconnected and leak checked.

The window lines did pass the leak check, however the leak dectoctor did not pump down past 5.8 x 10-9.

The front cover has also been reinstalled.

I have requested that the module have an electrical check before it moves as the containment box has been off as well as the water blocks being leak checked. Either one of these procedures could causes the water liunes and blocks to alter there position sightly which could cause as short...this is why I have requested an electrical check.

  315   Tuesday, April 23, 2013, 15:52 Bevan MossConditioning StationStandard OperationTM3N/AFurther HV Testing

Further HV testing was completed today from ~2:00 until 3:00. The resistivity of the water was 11.7 - 12.7 Mohm. The EE was turned on to 1500 V and had a leakage current of 1.465 mA with a inline and ballast resister of 20 kohm and 1 Mohm respectively. In addition to this all of the CB were turned on to 500V. The voltage on the source tray with all bias items tied together and the voltage was then raised to 30kV in 5kV steps. It was then raised until 37kV in 1kV step at which point the first spark was detected. Steps were then reduced to 500V until 39.5kV was achieved. Sparking was noticed when stepping up from one voltage to the next and steps were reduced to 100V. At 39.7 kV there were several sparks and the voltage was held for 8 minutes until there had been at least 4 minutes since the last spark. Voltage was increased to 41.2 kV at 292.97 uA when a spark caused the HVCLTBHT paddle wheel flow sensor to trip. Flow was affected but the interlock was tripped due to noise and as a result the BIAS and EE voltage dropped to zero. At this point the required data had been collected and it was decided to shut the station down. RGA scans were taken during the test and are attached. The edited data with graphs is attached in the excel folder. PNG1 was not monitored as it has failed.

The rga application is available at

2. Pail 271 (SiC#42), Tray 2B
3. Pail 246 (Nb#10), Tray 6C
4. Pail 265 (UCx#36), Tray 2A

There is current one open slot in the mini storage vault which is planned for the Ta#58 target (formerly in Pail 211, to be repacked in Dec. 2023).

1529   Tuesday, May 09, 2017, 07:00 David WangConditioning StationRepairTM3 Follow up Aurelia's entry, TM3 and TCS current limits investigation.

Aurelia and I investigated this current limit issue May 8th. First, By separating TM3 from TCS. we found the problem is on TCS side. We did a Megga test on TM3 as well. TM3 is good at 1KV megga test. After that, The insulators between TCS to ground is test. they are good which could hold 1G ohm at 1000V megga test. So the problem should be on power supply side  including power supply itself ,cables and transformer. Later, Tom and John found the TCS bias HV cable from power supply to HV chase top in faraday cage is broken down. It can not hold 5KV on HV test now. This cable should hold 100KV. But not this time. Tom also found  the adapter on Faraday cage could be designed in a better way. The broken cable was removed yesterday. John and Tom will order an exactly same cable from Glassmen.

David W. has installed two SST Proteus flow meters, model OV7006FTA32, on ITW Heat Shield and Coil. The flow meters are connected to a power supply and a data logger in the electrical room.

The Heat Shield flow meter has SN 00278112 and is on the Black wire pairs and connected to CH3 & CH4 on the logger.

The Coil flow meter has SN 00278113 and is on the Green wire pairs and connected to CH1 & CH2 on the logger.

The first channel (CH1, CH3) is temperature in degrees Celcius and the second channel (CH2, CH4) is flow rate in liters per minute.

A camera has been placed on the logger.

Flow rates today (2014-04-04):

HS        8.2 - 8.3 lpm
COIL    8.0 - 8.1 lpm

Ramping up TM4 with new source tray in. Current condition: new source tray but no water running in lines B, D or window. Multipin on the source tray grounded but no lines running into the service tray. Vacuum at 1e-6T.

Small sparks at each BIAS voltage increase starting at 30kV. First real spark around 38kV.

Going up in more than 100V steps causes spikes that take out TP2.

Monday, July 08, 2019, 14:54 : TP2 sparked off at BIAS/EZL = 44kV/25.1kV after 10mins at this point... will leave it here for a couple hours

Monday, July 08, 2019, 16:44 : 6 sparks in last 2hrs, some very strange vacuum response in which the pressure rose steadily and stayed high for 30mins before coming back to normal.

Monday, July 08, 2019, 17:25 : After 30mins at 45kV, started sparking, so will ramp down to 40kV and leave it overnight
