Laura Lambert | Under Process | | D.H.W leak in SEM lab |
Thursday, July 13, 2017, 14:53
Same pipe that had a leak in the cold lab ~1 month ago now has leak in SEM lab.
Small amount of water on floor and ceiling tile was brown and very bulgey - looked like it was about to collapse.
Small poke and the whole thing fell out.
Tile was very brown, damp and moldy as one can see in photos
mold indicates this was a slow build up and must have started a while ago.
one can see entire pipe through hallway does not look in great condition - similar to patch where leaked.
recommend entire pipe gets replaced.
will be patched up for now and replaced at end of month.

Laura Lambert | | | Glove box Alarm |
Tuesday, August 08, 2017, 14:28
Alarm for glove box went off this afternoon.
1person went to put arms in and alarm sounded.
Ar good = ~900psi
H2O/ O2 levels fine.
Gloves stuck out straight, but when touched very clear the pressure was low inside box.
Touch screen said ~"pressure exceeded +/-10" pressure"
Increased amount of Ar going into glove box by a small amount.
Ar going into/out of glove box ceased while alarm going off.
Pressed continue to reset and glove box went back to normal...

Laura Lambert | Fixed | | Glove box leak in hot lab |
Friday, April 06, 2018, 16:21
Over the long weekend ~1000psi was used up, indicating a leak somewhere in the glove box.
Tests over the past few days showed ~150psi leaked in 48hrs.
Tested both transfer chambers for leaks, both chambers held pressure fine/ no leaks detected.
Checked all the gloves for leaks and found a ~1mm size hole on the index finger of the right glove closest to the control box.
See photos attached.
Has been sealed off temporarily with duck tape.
Will replace glove after the weekend.

All the fumehood pumps in the ISAC-I hot and cold labs got tripped off when the MCC-X was powered down (See ISAC WP#2011-03-30-5). No reaction process is done inside the fumehoods, so the pumps are ok to be left off for now until the MCC-X work is done. |

Tue Apr 12 12:00:52 2011: The hot lab glove box regeneration was started yesterday (April 11, 2011). "Before regeneration, the O2 level was 97 ppm, The H2O level was 47 ppm. After restarting circulation through the dry train, the levels immediately started dropping. At 11:30 today, the O2 was @ 1.76 ppm, the H2O @ 11.2 ppm." (Marik).

John Wong | | | Cloth booties now avaiable for hotlab |
Wed Apr 13 13:53:46 2011
I've setup a box of cloth booties for entering the hotlab. They are
washable so please use them. I also have some paper booties there if you
like using them, but it can be costly to keep stocking them up, plus the
fee to throw them away.
As per RPG, before you exit the hotlab please check yourself. If the
cloth booties are clean of radiation, please put the them back to the box.
I'll ask to get them wash every now and then.

John Wong | Fixed | | Planetary Ball Mill Re-Commisioning |
Tue Jun 21 16:30:48 2011:
Re-Cap: On June 13, 2011, the milling jar gasket seal partially came out during the high speed milling (400RPM), and the ball mill was contaminated with UO2/C mixture (See TIS/Target Production message ID#9, UCx#2, for more details).
Today, the ball mill was successfully re-commissioned. RPG's helped to take some air samples during the commissioning, and nothing above the background was detected. The cold-lab is now re-open back; no booties are required. The commissioning plan and commissioning report are available on DocuShare. |

John Wong | Under Process | | TIS New Users |
Hi All,
As requested by Pierrer Bricault, I have added the following users to join the Targets and Ion Source (TIS) elog:
Grant Minor, Bevan Moss, Don Jackson, Chad Fisher, Travis Cave, David Wang, Tom Lyth, Ron Kuramoto, Maico Dalla Valla, Ron Muller.
Here is the link: https://elog.triumf.ca/TIS/
Your login names and temporary passwords are your first and last name (no spacing & all low cases, eg. Maico's user and password: maicodallavalla). Once you're logged in, please change your password.
I have created a few more elogs for the Remote Handling group: RH-Cyclotron, RH-Conditioning Station, RH-Yield Station. All new elogs entries come with the default attributes, "TYPE" and "Category". These attributes and the dropdown options can be added and changed. See "Evaporator_1" logbook how I have created 4 attributes: Target, Number, Source, Status. There are also many other functions, see the attachment for a few examples. Try using the elog; let me know how you would like to change it to work better for you and the group, and I'll do my best.
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

John Wong |

Tuesday, July 19, 2011, 16:22: The planetary ball mill was in the coldlab, and now it has moved to the hot lab for the purpose of processing UCx targets. The ball mill is installed in front of the fumehood and near by the alpha filters. The legs are secured in the metal rings so the machine will not move away during milling. (see attachment). |

John Wong | Under Process | 1 | Evaporator#1 glovebox repairing |
The evaporator#1 glovebox is leaking from the gloves, around the ports, and the base (possible more places). It is evident that there were holes on the gloves. When the glovebox is purged with Ar gas, one can feel that the gas is blown out from the base.
Solutions:
New gloves are ordered from RENCO Co. (PO#TR189708).
New seals & glove port rings have been implemented.
More need to be done...

Tuesday, February 28, 2012, 11:31
Hi All,
Hope you all find the TIS/RH elog useful :) There are a few things I want to share with you.
Did you know that you can make comments to the existing entries by using the "REPLY" function, so you can keep all the related entries in the same subjects? Yap! By doing that, we all keep the elogs organized :)
If you are using shared computers, please remember to log out when you finish with the elog. I suggest you to NOT check the "Keep me logged in..." box when you sign in.
If you have any questions/comments please feel free to let me know.
TIS/RH admin,
John Wong

Darwin Ortiz Rosales | Fixed | 1 | Hot Lab Glove Box Regeneration |
Wednesday, August 05, 2020, 19:34
On Friday July 31 a regeneration of the glovebox was started.
Initial 02 = 130 ppm
Initial H20= 1.9 ppm
The Argon gas level was 1200 psi
The regeneration was finished on August 01, 2020.
The 02 level (not accurate as stated in the manual) was p 137 ppm.
The H20 level was 8.9 ppm and not considered accurate as the system needs time to reach equilibrium.
The final 02 level was 7.0 ppm and recorded on August 05, 2020. The final moisture levels were recorded to be 1.9 ppm.
The regeneration was successful and it was concluded that the catalyst is active enough so that it does not need to be replaced.
Thursday, August 06, 2020, 15:47
02 = 6.75 ppm
H20 = 1.9 ppm
