Edi called to inform that he can replace the turbo today.

Tuesday, March 19, 2013, 09:03: Stopped TP6

Tuesday, March 19, 2013, 09:35: Venting

Tuesday, March 19, 2013, 09:48 : TMS section and backing line vented

The turbo pump has been replaced see

https://elog.triumf.ca/TIS/Test-Stand/284

Some heat marks were observed on the turbo pump that was replaced. Vacuum group took pictures.

  284   Tuesday, March 19, 2013, 17:25 Sebastian Raeder      Problems/Solutionsnew turbo installed

Edi replaced the faulty turbo pump in the mass separator section.

285   Tuesday, March 19, 2013, 19:13 Sebastian Raeder      Problems/Solutions9 Pin connector rewired to match wiring in TM4

The 9 Pin connector was rewired in the ISAC teststand to match the wiring in TM4

The wiring from the connection board in the HV cage to the connector (view from the target unit onto module) is now the following

      ---------------------------

  \     4     8     9     7     6    /

    \      5      1     2      x   /

            -----------------

with the pairs of wires

1,2   (kapton wire twisted pair all way)

4,5  (kapton wire twisted pair all way)

6,7  (kapton wire twisted pair inside the vacuum chamber,  other twisted pair from top of vacuum chamber to HV cage)

8,9  (kapton wire twisted pair inside the vacuum chamber,  other twisted pair from top of vacuum chamber to HV cage)

___ for completeness the wiring on top of the vacuum chamber (view from top onto the feedthrough)

      ---------------------------

  \     1     2     x     4     5    /

    \      6      7     8      9   /

            -----------------

NOTE: with this rewiring the metal screws on the PEEK 9Pin connector have been grounded using Ta foil

Thursday, March 21, 2013: there was a short in one of the lines  - most probably due to a shielding strand into the connector, has been resolved by fixation of the shielding in a position further away with Cu wire

288   Monday, March 25, 2013, 16:50 Sebastian Raeder      Problems/SolutionsRFQ powersupplies removed - Anode PS still connected to ground

The powersupplies added to the teststand for operation of the IGLIS source have been removed from the HV cage as well as the RFQ driver.. The connections of the 9PIN connector in the HV cage have been grounded and the wire used for an voltage offset of the source has been removed.

NOTE: The Anode PS cable (used for biasing the target with a FEBIAD) is left grounded --> has to be rewired when running a FEBIAD source - Anode PS is turned off

Tuesday, April 09, 2013:

Water leak has been repaired, but P/S could not be turned on. Ground interlock still latched. The base of the cabinet was filled with water - most of the water could be scooped out with a bucket.

Wednesday, April 10, 2013:

Removed the remaining water in the P/S rack.

Tuesday, April 16, 2013, 08:59

The turbo was found in fault state this morning. Based on data from IG6 the pump stopped around midnight.

An attempt to restart the pump will be made after the conditioning of Ta#40 is complete later today.

The TP has recently been replaced:
