One thing that seems to be strange regarding this FEBIAD is the best results are without any current in the coil.
Normally for the neon ionization the on-line source wanted to be at around 50 to 80 Amp. Not this one.
Is there anything special about this coil? |

Ray is finishing the electrical modifications for the FEBIAD with the biased cathode.
We found the source of the sparks. The disconnected target heater cables were resting on the Einzel lens cap.

There was a short between the gas line and the heat shield - as the gas line insulator was not tied to the heat shield. A Ta-wire was used to tie the
gas line and keep it from touching the heat shield. |

As per Ray Dube for the FEBIAD anode bias test. The PS will need to be reconnected before a target is run. |

Yesterday Ray Dube has changed the configuration in order to run the FEBIAD with the cathode on negative bias.
There were a short between the gas line and the common. The box has been opened and the short removed.
This morning I am turning on the cathode heater to 290 A. |

The fuse for both roughing pumps blows when roughing the chamber. With the help from Edi: disconnect the exhaust port on the roughing pump for the first
few hundred torrs of roughing. Reconnect and continue.
Seems the roughing pump RP1 pushes air towards the exhaust of RP2 which blows the fuse |

When turned ON it was not going higher than 3.6A (EPICS/front panel). Kazuya checked the connections at the back and also the EPICS/PLC/PS input/output
signals. He compared these values with the similar once of the TSH:TBHT PS (which is also a Xantrex PS 10-600). E-Fault 6275

Friedhelm checked the voltage across R4 from ISK4563D-rev2.pdf. It shows 50 kOhms with the power supplies off and everything connected according to the
drawing. With the Anode PS On and set at 20V, we could see the same readback on EPICS and on the meter.
Then started the heater ramping: auto ramp 2A/min. |
