The helium bottle was found empty.
Rick will refill it and hook the leak detector on the system to find out
if we have a leak on the line.

Rick put the helium bottle back in the rack.
Waiting for status of the gas lines.

A major leak was found on the connection to the regulation valve on the He bottle. Ferrule replaced. System leak checked.
After He bottle: base 5E-6, no response to He spray
AfterSV1: base 5E-7, no response
After SV2: base 4E-7, no response
The system should now be operational. Gas lines were evacuated with the leak checker. |

Gas line vacuum pump reinstalled after fitting was modified to receive a standard swagelok connector. The vacuum line was plumbed using 1/4" copper tube (not Stainless) for the the ability to flex and manipulate the line for pump removal and and insertion. |

The ramp up finished.
I have 3.35E-6 Amp out of the source on FC0.
Vacuum 4.3 E-7 T increase Coil current to 40 A. No effect on vac.
Increase coil to 50 A. Vacuum still good.
I will continue from home.. |

Lost communication with EPICS. Came in reset the ...
So far no luck.

The reset restored the control.
But magnet supply does not put any amperage out.
Try turning it off and on. No chance.
I gave up. See tomorrow. |

This morning I try to contact PS group no one answer. Dan Louie is in vacation.
I went into the can diagnostics panel and reconfigure MB1 power supply.
This worked.

I am done with the FEBIAD test (anode biased)
We will swap the bias now to the cathode and change the polarity to negative. |

|
One thing that seems to be strange regarding this FEBIAD is the best results are without any current in the coil.
Normally for the neon ionization the on-line source wanted to be at around 50 to 80 Amp. Not this one.
Is there anything special about this coil?

Ray is finishing the electrical modifications for the FEBIAD with the biased cathode.
We found the source of the sparks. The disconnected target heater cables were resting on the Einzel lens cap.

There was a short between the gas line and the heat shield - as the gas line insulator was not tied to the heat shield. A Ta-wire was used to tie the gas line and keep it from touching the heat shield. |

As per Ray Dube for the FEBIAD anode bias test. The PS will need to be reconnected before a target is run. |
