Ramping up HV to ~30kV, encountered problems and had to drop back to 28kV. No response on IG1 or anything else during sparks. Lots of charging-type behaviour on the bias current. Protons at 55uA

Tuesday, September 17, 2019, 02:02 : 15 mins with only 1 spark at 30kV so increased the bias

Tuesday, September 17, 2019, 02:31 : 32kV. Current unstable

Tuesday, September 17, 2019, 02:41 : Current continues extremely unstable but not much sparking....

Tuesday, September 17, 2019, 02:53 : Proton beam trip initially settled the bias current down, but then current began climbing pretty steeply with protons still off

Tuesday, September 17, 2019, 03:28 : Protons dropped to 40uA from 55uA, Bias current is much more stable and no sparks for 25mins

Tuesday, September 17, 2019, 03:36 : Raising voltage easy to about 33.5kV then instability and sparking similar to around 31kV at 55uA p+

Tuesday, September 17, 2019, 04:45 : Lowered protons to 25uA and no sparks though the current is not stable

More things but forgot to write them down. Spreadsheet attached.

Entry  Tuesday, October 01, 2019, 09:23, Don Jackson, ITE, Maintenance, TM2, ZrC #8, 60KV Common Connections TM2_Wiring.jpg

1 Jumpers between 60KV common and FEBIAD lines were connected in an unusual way.  This should of had no impact on the ZrC run but would have to be corrected for any future FEBIAD runs.

2 Feedthrough U was mislabeled (label has been removed)

TM2 has been connected  in ITE.  All turbo-pumps are started.

Entry  Friday, January 10, 2020, 10:26, David Wang, ITE, Standard Operation, , , ITE water signal inerlock check.

ITE water  signal interlock   check is done.  Everything is good. It is a annual check we do in winter shut down time.

Entry  Wednesday, January 29, 2020, 12:37, David Wang, ITE, Standard Operation, TM2, , ITE primary/secondary vacuum vessel leak check.

Leak check on ITE vacuum vessel is done. LD base leak rate 0.0XE-9atm.cc/sec. base pressure 0.0Xe-4torr. Sprayed helium on all ITE primary and secondary vacuum vessel seals(including TM2). No leak . Also,70psi helium  pressurized TM2 waterlines inside the module for each circuit 3 minutes. No leak on all operating TM2 waterlines.

Entry  Friday, February 28, 2020, 09:36, David Wang, ITE, Repair, , , Entrance module TP1S broken piesces clean up.

Using the camera,  Frank and I inspected the broken blades in vacuum duct bending section. We are pretty sure some of  the broken parts are fallen into  bottom of entrance module and vacuum vessel since the broken pars are over on the edge of bending section. The blades rotated at high speed. Basically, They were shoot to the duct opening when they were broken from the pump. Frank and I carefully swiped all broken parts  from the edges  back to center of duct first. Then, We use vacuum cleaner sucked all broken parts out of the entrance module. We can see lots aluminum dust  during the clean up. This kind of aluminum dust also could  fallen down to bottom of module and vessel.  After clean up, We inspected duct with camera. We can see all broken pieces and dust are cleaned out.  The removed broken pieces will be stored with broken pump when the vessel bottom clean up is done.

Entry  Wednesday, March 04, 2020, 11:52, David Wang, ITE, Standard Operation, , , ITE HV test without module

ITE bias test is done to 48KV. No spark. We can not raise bias above 48KV. It looks like we have a current limit issue on control system when testing above 48KV.  John Cow checked current limit on PS locally. It is set to 8mA which is much higher than the test current. Isac operator issued an e-fault to control group.

John Chow did a local test on PS. Everything works fine. The problem is on control system. We have a 48KV voltage limit problem on control system. We decide to end the test now. 48KV is good enough before this year mini-shut down.

Entry  Wednesday, March 11, 2020, 10:39, Travis Cave, ITE, Maintenance, , , Entrance module move

The entrance module has been moved to the east station to the south hot cell for inspection from the turbo pump explosion.

Entry  Thursday, March 12, 2020, 13:48, David Wang, ITE, Repair, , , Entrance module TP1S broken piesces clean up.

The broken pieces in ITE entrance vacuum pit are vacuumed out.  At SHC, There are 4 pieces on module collimator block top,  wiring scanner top. Chad removed them out at SHC. Electrical check at module top is done by diagnostics group. Everything works fine.

Entry  Friday, March 13, 2020, 09:24, Travis Cave, ITE, Standard Operation, , , Entrance module move

The east entrance module has been moved from the south hot cell back to the east target station.

Entry  Tuesday, March 17, 2020, 11:42, Travis Cave, ITE, Standard Operation, TM4, P to N target, Module move

TM#4 with the P to N target has been moved from the south hot cell to the east target station.

Entry  Tuesday, March 17, 2020, 14:59, David Wang, ITE, Development, TM4, P2N, ITE turbopumps are started.

They work fine. Current draw on all pumps are normal. I asked operator to switch on IG1 , IG1S and PNG4.

Entry  Wednesday, March 18, 2020, 10:40, David Wang, ITE, Development, TM4, , TM4 P2N target connection checklist. P2N_TM4_connection_checklist.pdf

TM4 has been connected in ITE. See checklist.

Entry  Wednesday, May 20, 2020, 13:19, David Wang, ITE, Maintenance, , , Restart of ITE turbo pumps.

PLC6 drop out in weekend caused the ITH MP1 and MP1s stopped. ITE turbo pumps were running still after that. Without back up pump, TPs started to trip off  later .  I found TP1,TP3, and TP4 were  tripped off this morning. And , The rest pumps ran with high current draw.  Jon Aoki restarted back up pumps and ITE turbo pumps. The ITE vacuum system works fine now.

Entry  Monday, June 01, 2020, 12:46, David Wang, ITE, Maintenance, , , ITH:CM6 ,CM6S and ITM:CM3 calibration.

Edi calibrated ITH:CM6, CM6S and ITM:CM3. By the same time,  ITH:MP1 and MP2  lubricate oil level are checked. Everything looks fine. No oil  leak on both pumps.
