Yesterday Aaron, Isaac and Anders inspected the EZL connection from the service chase to the optics tray using the goose neck camera in SHC. No issues or shorts could be identified. Containment box was not removed.

Today David and Anders opened up two panels on the service cap and inspected the EZL connection. No issues or shorts could be identified. Photos available on DocuShare.

Next step will likely be to remove the containment box and inspect the optics tray.

The containment box was removed yesterday. One of the main insulators on the source tray had cracked at the rear close to the bolt to the source tray mounting plate (see photos using link above)

Troubleshooting continued this morning with disconnection of the optics tray from the module. The banana plug copper tube connection was removed form the optics tray side. With the connection removed, the measurement showed open line on top of the module indicating that the problem is on the optics tray

Chad changed the EZL cable and plugs on TM2. New cable runs along the cable trays.

This morning the Einzel Lens was tested on TM3 as the intention is to reuse this piece of equipment. The EL was able to achieve 39.9kV at ~1.35mA before a major spark happened and the power supply turned off. Also during testing the penning gauge suddenly shot up after a spark, it did not recover and had been acting strange in previous test, it was decided to ignore its value and continue testing but it should be replaced in the future. When I went to save the strip tool data I tried to save it as SDDS binary data out of curiosity and the tool crashed, it turns out this is on old feature and doesn't work anymore. A file was created but I cannot recover any of the data. If I do manage to do so I will will attach it later. Attached is the RGA and Archiver data.

Other items of note:

Voltage was increased in 1000V increments until ~32kV when it started to have sparks. Increases were then reduced to 500V until 38kV when it sparked and further reduced to 100V increments where it worked until 39.9kV

There is a inline and ballast resistor on the EL circuit values of each respectively are 145Kohm and 200 Mohm

The rga application is available at

The lost Binary file. Binary files are no longer used and cause the the tool to crash. The option has not been removed from the strip tool users are just supposed to know not to use it.

Another drum of waste was removed from the south hot cell this morning. This drum contained one 5 gal steel pail (damaged), two sodium light bulbs, airlines, and tank suits. Upon removal the drum was/is 1.5 mSv/h on contact. there was 200 counts of contamination found on the lid...easily removed. It will be moved to the north hot cell at 11am.

I disconnected TM4 in ITE. The heat shield water circuit is purged. I  closed the water supply to ITE.Now, the water system only supply water to ITW and the system pressure is 110 psi which is good.I visually checked S-tank sight glass, and the water level is stable comparing to last week. Also, I visually checked the ITW water signals  strength and stability on electrical panel from electrical room.Everything looks fine.
