Restarted the PC at the Test Stand.

Restarted the Archivers; currently pumping down the separator area.

switched everything off to prepare for scheduled power outage on Monday

Entry  Friday, July 06, 2012, 11:18, Friedhelm Ames, , , , , , , , TSG:TP1B off source off again.

turbo pump TSG:TP1B has tripped off. Cannot be restarted. Fault report to vacuum. Everything switched off again

Entry  Friday, July 06, 2012, 11:05, Friedhelm Ames, , , , , , , , start source again

heater ramping up again with Ne leak closed.

Entry  Friday, July 06, 2012, 11:04, Friedhelm Ames, , , , , , , , source tripped off over night

A big vacuum excursion tripped the source off at about 1am. The vacuum did not fully recover afterwards only down to about 1.3e-6T. Ne leak has been closed and vacuum went down to 6e-7T within a few minutes. After the trip the current of the magnet stayed constant. Fluctuations may have been caused by high voltage sparks.

The current at the magnet power supply TMS:MB1 shows fluctuations every 1-2 minutes. The same can be seen in the Hall probe read back and in the beam current at Fc6.

a fault report has been issued to power supplies group. Dan Louie will look into it.

tube heater ramping started

Entry  Thursday, July 05, 2012, 10:59, Friedhelm Ames, , , , , , , Problems/Solutions, water tripping in front of HV power supplies

Found some water tripping in front of the high voltage power supplies rack from the water lines at the ceiling. Plastic sheets have been put on top of the racks and MCR has been informed.

Replaced grid containing ring (target side) with new ring. No contact between target and anode measured in lab.

NOTE: While closing up the VCR fittings the tube rotated causing the tube to flatten in a bend. This may reduce water flow on the heat shield circuit. (see attachment)

Wednesday, July 04, 2012, 15:33: Started roughing.

Wednesday, July 04, 2012, 15:57 : Started turbos

Wednesday, July 04, 2012, 16:03: Turbos at speed. Vacuum at 3E-5

Thursday, July 05, 2012, 08:39: Water supply open. Vacuum stable at 5.9E-7. Due to the kink in the heat shield cooling line, flow in the heat shield line is lower than other lines (visually inspecting speed of paddle wheels).

A short in the anode has developed during the heater ramp up. Increasing the current limit did not cure it. Start heater ramp down to investigate.

Wednesday, July 04, 2012: short found between anode and target. probably caused by the target tube coming in contact with the anode due to bending of the tube caused by heating and deformation of the grid retaining ring. see attachements

Entry  Friday, June 29, 2012, 08:57, Pierre Bricault, , LP-FEBIAD, , , , , In progress, Continue cathode heating

This morning the pressure was 3.5E-7 T. Current at 275 A is 30nA.

Continue cathode heating to 290 A during meeting.

Start seeing some electron current from the cathode around 275 A.

Entry  Thursday, June 28, 2012, 17:00, Pierre Bricault, , LP-FEBIAD, , , , , In progress, Cathode heater reached its value of 230 A and stoped. good test.

Now ramp cathode current up to 290 A. The total current out is 1.e-7 A.

Just a quick check at the Test Stand:

1. The system operational (  white out not present ) with TSH:TBHT heating in progress.

2. Started the Archivers: for Source and Optics.

3. Removed bypass on TSH:SV5 since it's not necessary anymore.

4. Currently: TSH:TBHT=107A
