The source was used yesterday for operator training.

Today, I found the source off: the ISAC PLC Status was stopped. Kazuya re-started the PLC. I will re-start the source.

Checked with ISAC Ops this morning and they are not available for FEBIAD training. Turned off the source until next week.

Turned the source back ON. Heaters are ramping up.

Entry  Wednesday, October 03, 2012, 13:50, Aurelia Laxdal, , HP-FEBIAD, , , , , In progress, Training updates

On Monday October 1, the HP-FEBIAD source was turned ON again, to complete the operator training. The last session was yesterday and for the time being the ISAC operators can play with the source when time allows, and from the ISAC Control room. For this purpose the source will be kept on this week and also over the week-end.

Checked the Archiver and the striptool: TSG:TP1A & TP1B tripped on Oct. 10, at 7:53am. Both pumps showed timeout, but the AC breakers were not tripped. Also, checked with MCR: they were no power bumps or cooling water problems around that time.

Discussed it with Kazuya Negishi from Controls: there were no PLC problems. Kazuya and I would monitor the trips.

Prepared the Test Stand for Controls to investigate E-Fault#6389.

Evgeniy increased the current limit on the power supply TSH:TGHT from 2 rotations to 7 rotations, after talking to Ray Dube.

I turned on the HV at 30kV and started the Auto-ramping.

Entry  Thursday, November 22, 2012, 12:52, Aurelia Laxdal, Test-SiC, HP-FEBIAD, , , , , , E-Fault#6389 re-directed to PS

Evgeniy and Kazuya investigated the problem with TSH:TGHT readbacks and they came to the conclusion that the PS is faulty, and the PLC reads correctly the signal sent by the PS.  Kazuya is redirecting the E-Fault from Controls to PS.

Ray Dube estimated few weeks (4-6) to send the PS offsite for repairs. This needs to be scheduled. For the time being, one can use the Test Stand with the PS setpoints, displayed on its front panel, as a reference.

Entry  Tuesday, December 11, 2012, 13:27, Sebastian Raeder, , , , , , , , 9 PIN connector

A Sub D 9 Pin connector on a HV insulator was installed on Port Q of the target box at the teststand. The insulator is leak tested and OK, vacuum is below 2E-7 T

The feed through is connected (1to1) to the upper 9 Pin connector of the target tray. Since the existing upper 9 Pin connector was damaged from a previous FEBIAD test, this connector was replaced. For wiring 4 twisted pair Capton insulated and shielded wires (identical to ITE and TM4) of about 50cm length are used.

Pin 3 is NOT CONNCTED

The pin pairs 1&2, 4&5, 6&7, 8&9 each use a line of twisted pairs

Connection to the HV added. The wires end in the HV cage on a screw terminal with labels 1--12. The numbers 1,2,4-9 are used in corresponding notation to the sketch above. Since 3 is not connected at all this terminal is used for grounding the wire shielding.

As cable 2 Capton isolated pairs of wire (1&2, 4&5) and two "normal" pairs for thermocouple (6&7, 8&9) reading are used. So all connections have shielded twisted pair cable, while  (6&7, 8&9)change the cable type at the 9Pin connector
