The bottle with Al(CH3)3 was removed from the test stand yesterday April 25.
comments in e-mail from Marik:
Anders & I took the Al(CH3)3 bottle out of the test stand & put it in the middle fume hood of lab 07. There was some puffs of white "smoke" when Anders unscrewed the VCR coupling. Likely some trapped liquid that oxidized on air exposure. If at all possible, I would suggest a vertical orientation in the Faraday cage.

Anders Mjos | | | | | | | Problems/Solutions | Loose chip of insulator material detected |
A chip of insulator material was detected below the lower target insulator stand-off (attachment - left picture). The chip may come from the tube heater insulator above (attachment - right picture). The chip will be further investigated when the target is removed. |

Today: did a mass scan at 580A on TGHT and 230A on TBHT at 30kV. Found some A/q units discrepancies on the mass scan page. It may be a hall probe problem: under investigations.
Uploaded the testing file on Docushare: http://documents.triumf.ca/docushare/dsweb/View/Collection-8539/Document-56575
Started the cool down. |

The chip came from the lower insulator stand-off on the target assembly (see attachment). After investigating the chipped insulator, it was decided (Pierre, Friedhelm, Anders) not to replace it - as the risk involved may be less than the risk involved in replacing. |
