David Wang | ITW | Standard Operation | TM4 | UCX46 | ITW primary and secondary vacuum vessel leak check for 2025 shut down |
ITW primary and secondary vacuum vessel leak check for 2025 shut down has been done. Also,TM4 internal water line helium pressure test has been finished. Both results are normal. There are two small old leak on EXit 1 and Exit2 module top plate o-ring under 1Xe-8 atm.cc/sec which we knoew in past years test. resin spray on leak area reduce the leak ratee below 5Xe-9 atm.cc/sec. No concern on these small leak. See attachment for detail results. |

- Started voltage ramp up. Using 250 V increments.
Tuesday, February 04, 2025, 12:07
- Current has got a bit noisy, starting at around 56.5 kV.
- Currently at 57 kV. Voltage is stable though.
- Current is about 151 uA on average, with spikes up to 164 uA.
- Held at 57 kV for about 5 minutes, no drops in voltage, so continuing ramp.
- 57.25 kV
- There is noise in the current each time the voltage is increased. It seems to calm down slowly, with the later noise/spikes being less frequent and lower magnitude.
- Average current is about 151 uA. Spikes at the start were as high as 169 uA, and after about 8 minutes they are about 160 uA.
- Held here for about 10 minutes before continuing ramp.
- I will try to get to 58 kV, and then back down to 57 kV to see if the current calms down and there is some sort of conditioning effect. If there is, I'm not sure of the mechanism since nothing is in vacuum.
Tuesday, February 04, 2025, 12:51
- Dropping down to 57 kV, the current was about 150 uA and there were no more noise spikes. Seems like conditioning. Going back to 58 kV and continuing ramp.
Tuesday, February 04, 2025, 13:09
- At 60 kV. Average current is about 187 uA initially, which could just be the average of the noise. It looks like it's dropping a few minutes later. About 10 minutes later, the current is 184 uA. 181 uA after 20 minutes.
- It's been stable for about 30 minutes now. No voltage fluctuations, noise in the current has been the same or decreasing.
- Current is about 177 uA after 80 minutes.
Tuesday, February 04, 2025, 14:36
- It's been 1.5 hours and the voltage has been stable the whole time. All is good. Ramping down.
Tuesday, February 04, 2025, 14:50

David Wang | ITE/ITW Cooling | Maintenance | | | HALCW resin tank filter cartridges are changed today |
Two of resin tank filter cartridges(supply and return) are changed today. Old cartridges and bagged and tagged. The contact field on them are 650usv/hr. The new cartridges are fiber-glass, Triumf store item. After replacement, the field on contact with the filter case are about 10 usv/hr. But the field on contact with top resin tank has been increased from 45usv/hr to 225 usv/hr
The flow rate is relatively stable before and after change. See attachment |

Anders Mjos | ITE/ITW Cooling | Maintenance | | | High Active Water Resistivity |
The high active water resistivity took a long time to recover after the upgrade to the water cooling circuit. The system needed about a month (from end February to end March) to recover to nominal values. See attached plot of archiver data.
TM1 has now been connected in ITW and the water resistivity remains > 8 MOhm cm, which should allow normal operation. However, the resin is suspected to be approaching end of life. Work is ongoing to get a new replacement resin tank. |

David Wang | ITE/ITW Cooling | Standard Operation | | | Field measurement on old resin tank in silo |
The old resin tank has been stored in silo since last year March. Without crane the tank up, We use the pole monitor measured the field around the bottom of the tank in silo. The average contact field on the bottom is about 4.0msv/hr. @0.5meter , the field is about 900usv/hr. It is still too hot to remove it. |

HALCW resin can flow meter replacement is done. Less that 100 mL water was drained to a small tray during the job. RPG checked the water. Less than 20 counts. Water are dumped the high active sump. The HALCW MP1 is started. No leak on new gauges and fittings. Old gauge is labeled , bagged, and stored in TH. |
