David Wang | South Hot-Cell | Standard Operation | TM2 | | SHC, TM2 leak check on window line and HS line. |
Chad and I leak checked the TM2 HS and window lines after new target installation. The window line was very easy pumped down on LD. But, The HS line only could pumped to 2-3 torr at first. Chad changed the VCR gaskets on HS line(target). It solved the problem. The LD could pumped both of Window and HS lines to the bottom scale. Chad sprayed lots helium around the VCR joints. No leak has been found. WE will do helium pressurizing test on them at TCS. |

Isaac Earle | North Hot-Cell | Development | | | North Hot Cell Scope Decision |
A meeting was held on May 4, 2016 to determine the scope of the North Hot Cell project. The following was agreed upon by those in attendance:
The NHC will be a designated target change hot cell. It will be capable of performing all routine target operations (target removal/installation, leak check, electrical check, video inspection, post irradiation examination, target waste packaging and removal) using the same method currently used in the south hot cell. Provisions will be included for the ability to perform target waste separation in the future unless a significant obstacle is encountered in which case the meeting attendees will be consulted. Target waste separation involves separating the internal target heater from the target heat shield, then combining multiple target heaters in a single F-308 shipment. Neither an inert gas atmosphere nor a double-door waste transfer system will be part of the NHC scope.
The following people were in attendance: Bob Laxdal, Anders Mjos, Don Jackson, Joe Mildenberger, Friedhelm Ames, Alex Gottberg, Grant Minor, Yasmine Saboui, Peter Kunz
The following people were invited, but were unable to attend: Chad Fisher, Pierre Bricault
The project will begin immediately, with Isaac Earle as the project leader. The first steps will be to submit a Project Initiation Sheet, then to write and release the Requirements Specification document. |

Anders and I finished the most part of TM2 water lines helium pressure test yesterday.I list the system parameters and test result as below:
TCS IG1: 9.8XE-8 torr, TCS IG2: 9.6Xe-7 torr, TCS IG1S: 3.5XE-9 torr, TCS CG1A: 10 m torr
Helium pressure: 70 psi. Test time: 5 minutes for each individual circuit. 1 hour for all lines together test.
Leak detector base leak rate:0.0 X E -9 atm.cc/sec, base pressure 0.0X E-4 torr. LD was always restored or closely restored to the bottom scale after each individual test.

David Wang | Conditioning Station | Repair | TM2 | | TM2 leak check at TCS, water test. |
The following water circuits in TM2 are connected at TCS and running with water now : target oven+ - ( one circuit), tube heater+ -( one circuit), coil1 and 2(one circuit), MSP, and EE. The HS and window are open circuits now so they can not be supplied with water. During the check before we knew HS and window circuit were close to perfectly sealed. So, The test result should not be affected without them
The TCS water pumps are started at 8:28 AM. All TCS high vacuum gauge readings are getting slight better after that. |

David Wang | Conditioning Station | Repair | TM2 | | venting TCS with argon. |
Anders reported a possible air leak on TM2 and TCS by watching RGA this morning. I found the quick connector on F terminal on the top of the module is leaking air. It is only used as "X" terminal for Febiad without water. So, it should be blind capped instead of installing a quick connector. It was installed with a blind cap before. I borrowed it for leak check on coil lines at SHC, but forgot to put it back right away. Instead, I put a quick connector on it later. This caused the problem. Anyway The TCS need to be vented , and a blind cap will be installed on the F terminal.
2014-04-18, 9:24AM, I changed the quick connector with a blind cap on F terminal. the rough pump is started now. |

Thursday, April 14, 2016, 07:50: RGA on
Friday, April 15, 2016, 08:09 : Ratio between water and air is higher than normal (indicating possible air leak). See attachment. 3.5 more H2O than N2. (Ratio in TM3 Nov 2015 was 82:1)
A leak was found on the o-ring between the module flange and TCS. This could be fixed by cleaning the o-ring and sealing surface. The Window line is not closed and was accidentally pressurized with He on April 25
