The target heater power supply at the teststand has been removed to replace one in ITE.

Entry  Wednesday, December 19, 2012, 16:22, Sebastian Raeder, , , , , , , Problems/Solutions, status after power outage

Wednesday, December 19, 2012, 16:24:

After long power outage, everything is off except the roughing pumps. Two turbo pumps (TMSTP2 and TSGTP1B) have shown fault due to timeout, only TSGTP1B could be reset, while TMSTP2 is still showing this fault

Vacuum in Magnet section is 0.004T according to TMSCG2. Since the target chamber was vented to remove the RFQ tests target, this section is actually pumped down using the roughing pumps (water lines are blanked off)

archivers started

Wednesday, December 19, 2012, 21:43

I was now able to reset TMSTP2.

closed the roughing pumps to the target chamber, vacuum at 0.027T

Entry  Friday, July 06, 2012, 11:04, Friedhelm Ames, , , , , , , , source tripped off over night

A big vacuum excursion tripped the source off at about 1am. The vacuum did not fully recover afterwards only down to about 1.3e-6T. Ne leak has been closed and vacuum went down to 6e-7T within a few minutes. After the trip the current of the magnet stayed constant. Fluctuations may have been caused by high voltage sparks.

Entry  Tuesday, July 03, 2012, 19:05, Friedhelm Ames, , , , , , , Problems/Solutions, short in anode

A short in the anode has developed during the heater ramp up. Increasing the current limit did not cure it. Start heater ramp down to investigate.

Wednesday, July 04, 2012: short found between anode and target. probably caused by the target tube coming in contact with the anode due to bending of the tube caused by heating and deformation of the grid retaining ring. see attachements

The bottle with Al(CH3)3 was removed from the test stand yesterday April 25.

comments in e-mail from Marik:

Anders & I took the Al(CH3)3 bottle out of the test stand & put it in the middle fume hood of lab 07.  There was some puffs of white "smoke" when Anders unscrewed the VCR coupling.  Likely some trapped liquid that oxidized on air exposure.  If at all possible, I would suggest a vertical orientation in the Faraday cage.
