TM2 coil line R,U has been vacuum leaked check at the hot cell and has passed with no response from the leak detector.

IMG gauge, clip for ground to window lines and gas line extensions were installed today.

David and I also tried to locate the short between the coil line and MSP/Heat Shield...it went away for a bit...but is back.

Gas lines extensions installed yesterday were too long and gas lines touched top inside of containment box. They have been removed and the gas lines re-installed in their original manner. Gas lines have been "adjusted" as to clear the tube heater lines, which was the original issue.

Ultem high voltage spacer installed and 9 pin banana plug plugged in. Target has been inserted into the hot cell and will be installed after base-line electrical checks...probably first thing in the morning.

Entry  Wednesday, July 22, 2015, 12:13, chad fisher, South Hot-Cell, Repair, TM2, , TM2 Short Findings TM2_Short_July_22.jpg

Pin X was unplugged, short remained, however any slight pressure on the block towards the source tray makes the short go away.

Confirmed clearance between the EE and thr R / U coil lines as well as MSP of coil line.

Camera inspection would seem to indicate that ALL issues stem from a common location...there is a spot where both the pin X waterline and the one of the R / U waterline  contact the heat shield waterline...one on one side of the heat shield line and the other on the other side.

SiC#31 has been removed from TM4 and UCx#13 installed. UCx#13 connection to the 9 pin connector was VERY VERY tight to the tube heater insulator on both the test jig and module.

Tuesday, August 11,  insulator ITA6272 was installed onto the "pin x" line (unused plasma electrode) and tested; it seems to have successfully eliminated the shorts on that line.

Wednesday, August 12  "shunts" installed on tube heater and oven circuit and electrically  tested.

Thursday , August 13, dummy target installed.

As previously mentioned, dump target installed with new mounting and high current fasteners.

Leak Check complete and ready to move to CS at 1:30

Vacuum leak check on the window line circuit of TM1 took place yesterday and again to confirm this morning. Both days the response to helium is in the area of a soldered reduction fitting at the top of the containment box above and to the shutter side of the extraction column (see attached picture). To verify this morning each joint in the system had a 1 second shot of helium and then timed for 1 minute to wait for a response. This area responded both times tested at about 40 seconds...no response at any of the other locations.

Entry  Thursday, September 10, 2015, 08:59, chad fisher, South Hot-Cell, Repair, , , Manipulator Mait. and field check Sept. 4

Hot cell was entered for preventative mait. on left manip. field measurements around the cell were taken in prep. for window removal in January and left/south light bulb changed.

Hottest item in the cell was the conductor block end of the TM4 febiad coil line. It was 70 mSv/H on contact and seemed to be the major source of field in the hot cell. The waterblock end of this line did not apper to be hot.

Entry  Tuesday, September 15, 2015, 11:06, chad fisher, South Hot-Cell, Repair, TM1, , TM1 Window Gasket Replacement

Replaced the custom silver gaskets on the entrance window panel of TM1 this morning...this has eliminated an sign of leak at this joint, however there appears to still be a leak somewhere...a good distance from the vcr joints of the window as we are getting a drift response.

Chad sprayed helium to soldering stems in containment box which we suspected with leak last week. With 1second click  on helium, after 80 seconds waiting time , the LD started to show leak up to 3xe-9atm.cc/sec.

Chad sprayed helium close to service tray and vacuum chase. with 1second click on helium , after 30 seconds waiting time, the LD started to show leak up to 2Xe-8 atm.cc/sec.

After this test, we knew the leak is somewhere in service tray or service cap, but not the soldering stems in containment box we suspected before. The further investigation is needed.

ZrC#7 has been removed from TM2. Everything looks good.

Entry  Thursday, October 15, 2015, 14:17, chad fisher, South Hot-Cell, Repair, TM2, , Anode Connector Install and adjustment 20151015_085914.jpg

The TM2 containment box was removed this morning for installation of the 9 pin connector...connection.

The 9 pin connector copper tube connection was made and Anders advised on routing of the cable to the banana plug water block connection.

Short was diagnosed (short disappeared when water block was pushed slightly towards center of module) and thicker Ultem spacer installed and tested again. All good.

Entry  Monday, October 19, 2015, 11:53, chad fisher, South Hot-Cell, Standard Operation, TM2, SiC#32, SiC#32 installed on TM2

SiC#32 has been installed on TM2. High current fasteners torqued to 130 in lbs.

The febiad coil line removed from TM4 has been cut into pieces small enough to be disposed of in a 5 gal pal. The line was cut with a Ridgid Model 104 manual pipe cutter (using the manipulators of course).

This pieces constitute the bulk of the field in the hot cell and will be disposed of with the next spent target.

Rebuild handle of manipulator serial 7986 (currently in the east position) and replaced broken snap ring 5555-18h on west side of the handle underneath motion switch.

Entry  Friday, October 23, 2015, 11:30, chad fisher, South Hot-Cell, Standard Operation, , ZrC#7, ZrC#7 Spent Move and Febiad Coil

ZrC#7 was transfered to a spent target disposal pail today and removed from the hot cell. The "hot" end of the TM4 coil end was also disposed of in the same pail (#129)

Entry  Tuesday, November 24, 2015, 13:54, chad fisher, South Hot-Cell, Repair, , , Cell Decon

Decon/removal of large solid waste was performed on Wednesday November 18th."Hot" activated items included containment box cover from TM2, Febiad coil line remnants from TM4 (the hottest ends were previously cut off and disposed of), some target conductor bolts, steerer plugs from TM2, target material remn.

Drum containing these solid items is 2.5mSv/hr at 1/2m.

Drum is stored in the north hot cell temp.

Compressible waste will require another drum.

Swipes were taken of the window... 170k counts per minute of cont.
