On 14March2016, 4VQ1&Q2 were removed from BL4V and lowered into the Vault basement B3 level where they were stored in the south west corner on their respective wood pallets.  The hot ends of both magnets were place against the west wall.  4VQ2 was lifted out first and moved temporarily downstream where it was separated from its magnet stand. Q2 was then craned into the basement where it was tipped 45^o to lay on the flat side of the magnet face.  Q2’s magnet  stand and it’s mounting brackets were then craned down onto another pallet and moved to the same storage area.

4VQ1 was pulled about 3-4 ft. downstream using a pair of ¾ Ton come-along winches to clear the overhead Elevating Jacks platform.   Q1 was then separated from its stand where both were lowered onto pallets like Q2 and moved to the storage area.  Four concrete shield blocks were postioned down stream of 4VCM1 to shield the beam exit port.

The total accumulated dose received was 0.46mSv spread amongst 5 people.  See W/P C2016-03-11-5 for Rad survey levels of Q1 & Q2.
