Subject: Sintering TaC coating on fully enclosed target boat for graphite test

 Tuesday, November 21, 2017, 12:01

Boat coated with TaC using 'flushing technique' and let dry overnight.

Wrapped with 1 long Ta heat shield 3x

Loaded into evap2 just before lunch

IGP1 = 7.1e-6 Torr

OMEGA slope = 0.98

Good vac at 3.0e-4, bad vac at 8.0e-4 Torr.

HS water valves have remained open since the last time evap2 was used.

No leak check done.

Tapped up manually to 35A.

Waited ~25min

Vacuum stable.

IGP1 = 1.15e-5 Torr

IGP2 = 1.17e-5 Torr

Initiating auto ramp for TGHT @ 0.2A/min to a max setpoint of 300A

Once max setpoints achieved, will tap up manually to final desired temperature of 1900C

 Wednesday, November 22, 2017, 09:32

TGHT = 270A, 4.15V

OMEGA = 1285C

IGP1 = 1.23e-6 Torr

IGP2 = 1.13e-6 Torr

Vacuum stable.

Increasing ramping rate to 1.0A/min and final setpoint to 350A

 Wednesday, November 22, 2017, 10:25

TGHT = 325A, 5.15V

OMEGA = 1500C

IGP1 = 2.80e-6 Torr

IGP2 = 2.93e-6 Torr

Vacuum stable.

Increasing ramping rate to 1.5A/min and final setpoint to 400A

 Wednesday, November 22, 2017, 10:49

TGHT = 350A, 5.60V

OMEGA = 1580C

IGP1 = 4.5e-6 Torr

IGP2 = 4.9e-6 Torr

Vacuum stable.

Increasing ramping rate to 2.0A/min

 Wednesday, November 22, 2017, 11:18

TGHT = 400A, 6.64V

OMEGA = 1734C

IGP1 = 5.8e-6 Torr

IGP2 = 6.2e-6 Torr

Vacuum stable.

Increasing final setpoint to 450A.

 Wednesday, November 22, 2017, 15:59

TGHT = 460A, 8.07V

OMEGA = 1898C

IGP1 = 1.34e-6 Torr

IGP2 = 1.27e-6 Torr

Sintering process complete.

Remained at max setpoints for just over 4hrs.

Initiating auto-cool at 2.0A/min.
